NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Recommendations for November 4 2019

Monday’s slate in the NBA might only consist of six games, but it’s still a juicy one. A couple of suspensions, one star set to sit out the second game of a back-to-back and a lot of injuries make for some intriguing story lines. Let’s get right to it and highlight a couple of players at each position to consider. POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Recommendations for November 4 2019

Ben Simmons, PHI at PHO
FanDuel = $9,500
DraftKings = $8,500

Joel Embiid is still serving his suspension, so several players on the Sixers are in a position to take on a larger role. With Embiid also out Saturday against the Blazers, Simmons provided another one of his juicy all-around stat lines with 18 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and two steals. He also attempted 16 shots, which is tied for his season-high in a game so far. Look for him to carry a high floor into this matchup, as well.

Isaiah Thomas, WAS vs. DET
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $4,900

The Wizards have one of the ugliest depth charts in the league, so it’s not a surprise that they have immediately turned to the veteran Thomas for production. While he’s only averaging 21 minutes a night, that hasn’t stopped him from averaging 16.3 points, three rebounds and 7.3 assists. Shots likely won’t be hard for him to combine by in this contest, either, which could lead to a another great performance given the Pistons’ myriad of injuries at guard.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Recommendations for November 4 2019

James Harden, HOU at MEM
FanDuel = $11,000
DraftKings = $10,800

The Rockets were blown out by the Heat on Sunday, leaving Harden to only play 26 minutes. Despite his limited time on the floor, he still scored 29 points. With the expectation that Russell Westbrook will sit this game for load management purposes, Harden should get all of the shots that he can handle against a Grizzlies team that has played at the third-fastest pace in the league. That looks like a recipe for DFS gold.

Bruce Brown, DET at WAS
FanDuel = $3,900
DraftKings = $3,200

I briefly mentioned earlier that the Pistons are having injury issues right now at guard. Reggie Jackson (back) and Derrick Rose (hamstring) have already been ruled out and Tim Frazier (shoulder) is listed as doubtful. With all three of those players also out Saturday against the Nets, Brown played 40 minutes and finished with 22 points, two rebounds, seven assists and two steals. Expect him to play a ton here, as well, making him a great cheap option to pursue.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Recommendations for November 4 2019

Tobias Harris, PHI at PHO
FanDuel = $7,300
DraftKings = $7,000

The Sixers have relied heavily on Harris, who has logged at least 34 minutes in every game so far this season. He hasn’t disappointed, averaging 19.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, three assists and 1.4 steals. In the two games that Embiid has missed, he scored 29 and 23 points, respectively. Expect him to receive some added shot attempts in this game, making him a great option at such a reasonable price on both sites.

Luke Kennard, DET at WAS
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $5,000

Brown won’t be the only player forced to log heavy minutes in the Pistons’ backcourt. Kennard played 37 minutes in that same contest Saturday, scoring 24 points to go along with three rebounds and four assists. While not as cheap as Brown, he can still provide significant value. Of note, he is only listed at small forward on FanDuel since he is listed at point guard and shooting guard on DraftKings.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Recommendations for November 4 2019

Al Horford, PHI at PHO
FanDuel = $7,500
DraftKings = $6,900

While I definitely like Simmons and Harris for this slate, Horford is my favorite player on the Sixers to target with Embiid out. The first game that Embiid missed this season, Horford posted 23 points, nine rebounds and five assists. In the second game that he sat out, Horford had 25 points, five rebounds and seven assists. Expect him to approach those type of numbers once again.

Brandon Clarke, MEM vs. HOU
FanDuel = $5,600
DraftKings = $4,800

Clarke has shown plenty of promise in the early going, averaging 11.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.6 blocks across just 23 minutes a game. He’s coming off of his first career double-double after recording 16 points and 11 rebounds versus the Suns on Saturday. Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) is listed as doubtful for this game, which could open up added playing time for Clarke. Expect him to provide plenty of defensive stats and at least approach a double-double.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Recommendations for November 4 2019

Andre Drummond, DET at WAS
FanDuel = $10,600
DraftKings = $10,400

At this point, I’m not sure how you can keep Drummond out of your lineup. He’s been a one-man wrecking crew with Blake Griffin (hamstring) out, averaging 22.1 points, 18.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.7 steals and 2.6 blocks. With at least 20 points and 20 rebounds in three straight games, his upside is off the charts.

Jahlil Okafor, NO at BKN
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $3,100

The key with Okafor will be the availability of Derrick Favors (knee), who is listed as questionable after missing the last three games. If he can’t play, Okafor is in a spot to thrive against a Nets team that struggles to slow down opposing centers. He has already played well of late, averaging 20.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks over his last two contests.
