POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 3/28/19

D.J. Augustin, ORL at DET
FanDuel = $5,900
DraftKings = $5,200

After winning six straight, the Magic find themselves as the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. They are just half a game behind the Pistons for the seventh spot and have both the Heat and Hornets nipping at their heels, so this game is huge. Augustin is playing well right now and has had plenty of success against the Pistons this year, averaging 18.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 7.3 assists across their previous three meetings.

Fred VanVleet, TOR at NY
FanDuel = $5,400
DraftKings = $4,800

Now four games behind the Bucks, the Raptors seem destined for the second seed in the East. As a result, they are using this matchup against the lowly Knicks as an opportunity to rest Kawhi Leonard. VanVleet is averaging 13.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 5.8 assists across six games since returning from injury and should receive added playing time with Leonard on the sidelines.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 3/28/19

Ian Clark, NO vs. SAC
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $3,700

Just when it seemed the guard situation couldn’t get any worse for the Pelicans, Frank Jackson is now out with a concussion. With Jrue Holiday (abdomen) and E’Twaun Moore (quadriceps) also out, they don’t have many options left at the position. Clark should see added playing time, which is huge considering both of these teams are inside the top-three in the league in pace of play. Across 12 games in which Clark has logged at least 20 minutes this season, he’s averaged 10.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest, so there is the potential for some value here.

Garrett Temple, LAC at MIL
FanDuel = $3,800
DraftKings = $4,000

The Clippers are a team to closely monitor leading up to tipoff with both Patrick Beverley (hip) and Landry Shamet (ankle) listed as questionable. Temple started with Shamet out Tuesday against the Timberwolves and cashed in with 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals across 32 minutes. If both Beverley and Shamet are out, Temple should once again be in line for added playing time.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 3/28/19

Stanley Johnson, NO vs. SAC
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $3,600

Johnson could be another player on the Pelicans who sees an increased role with Jackson out. He doesn’t normally play much, but he’s been productive lately in the few opportunities that he has received extended run. Across 28 minutes against the Mavericks last week, he recorded 18 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals. He followed that up with 13 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal over 23 minutes against the Magic. With the expected up-tempo pace of this game, Johnson might be worth a dart throw in tournament play.

Mario Hezonja, NY vs. TOR
FanDuel = $4,100
DraftKings = $4,200

With Noah Vonleh (ankle) out the last five games, Hezonja has found himself as a starter for the Knicks. He certainly hasn’t been consistent, but he did average 12.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists during that stretch. Vonleh will be out again Thursday and the Knicks could be even more shorthanded with Kevin Knox (ankle) listed as questionable. It’s hard to feel comfortable about playing anyone on the Knicks based on how frequently they change up their rotations, but rolling with Hezonja is a risk that might be worth taking.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 3/28/19

Christian Wood, NO vs. SAC
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $4,100

Mostly relegated to the G League while a member of the Bucks’ organization, Wood has found a new home after being claimed off waivers by the Pelicans. He only logged eight minutes in his first game against the Rockets, but the absence of Anthony Davis (back) freed up significant playing time for him Tuesday against the Hawks. He took advantage of the juicy matchup, recording 23 points, nine rebounds, three steals and six blocks across 32 minutes. Even though the likely return of Davis for this game should limit Wood’s playing time, he’s still at least someone to consider, especially based on his price on DraftKings.

Maxi Kleber, DAL at MIA
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $5,100

Kleber has had stretches this season when he’s received added playing time, but he’s largely struggled to be productive. He’s finally starting to get things rolling down the stretch, averaging 11 points, eight rebounds and a block over his last eight games. He should continue to receive plenty of minutes due to the Mavericks depleted frontcourt, so he’s a viable option despite this matchup against a good defensive team in the Heat.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 3/28/19

Mitchell Robinson, NY vs. TOR
FanDuel = $6,400
DraftKings = $4,400

The Knicks decided to give DeAndre Jordan a hefty workload against his former team in the Clippers on Sunday, leaving Robinson to log just 14 minutes. Despite his limited workload, he still finished with seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Expect his playing time increase Thursday and for him to continue to have a high upside based on his ability to rack up rebounds and defensive stats. He’s especially appealing at his price on DraftKings.

Jakob Poeltl, SA vs. CLE
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $4,000

The Spurs hopes of improving their playoff seeding should receive a boost against a horrible Cavaliers team on Thursday. The Cavaliers last six losses have been by an averaged of 12.5 points, so this game certainly has the potential to be a blowout, especially with the Spurs being at home. Poeltl could receive added playing time if the Spurs jump out to an early lead, making him a cheap option to consider. He’s already been productive with averages of 6.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks across his last 12 games.
