NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 11 – Wide Receivers and Tight Ends
While there are several high-priced wide receivers on the docket for Week 11, there are also a few cost-effective options that could pay off in DFS. Meanwhile, it’s slim pickings at tight end. Let’s breakdown both positions and discuss some players worth targeting. WIDE RECEIVER CASH TARGETS
Michael Thomas, NO at TB
FanDuel = $9,000
DraftKings = $9,900
Is Thomas becoming the Christian McCaffrey of wide receivers? Well, I wouldn’t say he’s that far ahead of the field, but it sure is difficult to fade him at this point. Even though the Saints only scored nine points against the Falcons last week, Thomas caught 13 passes for 152 yards. He received 14 targets in that contest and has had at least 11 passes thrown his way in all but two games this season. To add to the absurdity, he has an 83.5 percent catch rate. The Bucs have allowed the most passing yards per game in the league, which certainly isn’t going to help their cause any against Thomas.
Julian Edelman, NE at PHI
FanDuel = $7,400
DraftKings = $7,600
It’s been a strange season for the Patriots, who have seen both Antonio Brown and Josh Gordon come and go at wide receiver. The one constant has been Edelman, who has received 90 targets through nine games. His four touchdowns aren’t great, but his 70 percent catch rate and high target share leaves him with a high floor more often than not. The addition of Mohamed Sanu has done nothing to deter his workload, so don’t be afraid to deploy him here against the Eagles.
WIDE RECEIVER GPP TARGETS
Jamison Crowder, NYJ at WAS
FanDuel = $6,500
DraftKings = $5,700
I’m going to the well again with Crowder this week. He’s coming off of back-to-back weeks with at least 80 receiving yards and a touchdown, finally benefiting from having a capable quarterback under center. Don’t get me wrong, Sam Darnold has his flaws, but the Jets’ offense couldn’t move the ball when he was out with mono. In the six games that Darnold has been able to play this season, Crowder has recorded at least 80 yards four times. While the Redskins haven’t played poorly against the pass, Crowder is priced low enough to still warrant consideration.
Tyrell Williams, OAK vs. CIN
FanDuel = $6,200
DraftKings = $5,400
Touchdown regression has hit Williams. After finding his way into the end zone during each of his first five games, he’s gone scoreless in back-to-back weeks. In fact, he recorded only six total catches for 73 yards against the Lions and Chargers. He’ll look to get back on track this week in what could be a high-scoring afternoon for the Raiders considering the Bengals are tied for the fifth-most points allowed in the league.
D.J. Moore, CAR vs. ATL
FanDuel = $6,000
DraftKings = $5,900
The Cam Newton (foot) era might be over for the Panthers. Not only has he been slowed by injury, but Kyle Allen has performed well in his absence. Allen has certainly not negatively impacted Moore, who already has 54 catches for 684 yards. To put that into perspective, Moore had 55 catches for 788 yards all of last season. He’s been particularly potent of late with back-to-back 100 receiving yard performances. The Falcons have allowed the eighth-most passing yards per game in the league, leaving Moore with significant upside.
TIGHT END CASH TARGETS
Darren Waller, OAK vs. CIN
FanDuel = $6,700
DraftKings = $5,500
George Kittle would have been the clear cash play for this slate, but he’s likely going to sit out for the second straight game. That brings us to Waller, who has been quiet the last three weeks with a total of seven catches for 103 yards and a touchdown. With that being said, his 65 targets lead the team by a wide margin, so he’s in play against the porous Bengals’ defense.
Jared Cook, NO at TB
FanDuel = $6,000
DraftKings = $4,400
Cook was also productive in last week’s bout with the Falcons, catching six of 10 targets for 74 yards. Both he and Drew Brees have dealt with injuries this season, so that was actually only the second full game that the two had played together. They may have used the bye week to reconnect and he certainly has a chance to provide another meaty stat line given the Bucs’ inability to defend the pass.
TIGHT END GPP TARGETS
Greg Olsen, CAR vs. ATL
FanDuel = $5,100
DraftKings = $3,900
Olsen is no where near the player that he was in his prime, but that doesn’t mean that he should be overlooked. He’s been able to stay healthy and has been significantly involved in the Panthers’ offense with 55 targets. He’s coming off of his best game of the season in which he caught eight of 10 targets for 98 yards against the Packers and could be worth a look at his cheap price on both sites.
Ryan Griffin, NYJ at WAS
FanDuel = $4,800
DraftKings = $2,900
If you really want to dig deep at the position to save some money, rolling with Griffin might not be a crazy idea. Week 10 was a disaster with him catching his only target for negative-two yards, but some of that was because of the return of Chris Herndon, who received two targets. In the two games prior, Griffin posted 10 catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Herndon is now on IR with a rib injury, opening up the path for Griffin to reclaim his spot atop the Jets’ tight end depth chart.
