WIDE RECEIVER CASH TARGETS
Davante Adams, GB vs. WAS
FanDuel = $8,400
DraftKings = $8,000
Adams had a great matchup against the Giants last week and didn’t disappoint, catching six passes for 64 yards and two touchdowns. He received 10 targets in the contest, marking his fifth-straight game of reaching double figures in that category. Normally a touchdown machine, Adams only has three scores all season. However, given his target share and the fact that the Redskins are tied for the eighth-most passing touchdowns allowed in the league, Adams could in line for a big afternoon.
Julian Edelman, NE vs. KC
FanDuel = $7,600
DraftKings = $7,100
With Antonio Brown and Josh Gordon having come and gone, the Patriots are still in a state of flux at wide receiver behind Edelman. The addition of Mohamed Sanu has not worked out so far and Phillip Dorsett has been hit or miss. They also don’t have a great pass-catching option at tight end, which has left Edelman with at least 10 targets in seven straight games. During that stretch, he recorded 53 catches for 579 yards and three touchdowns. Tom Brady will likely have to look his way often to try and keep up with the high-powered Chiefs, making Edelman one of the safer wide receivers on the board.
WIDE RECEIVER GPP TARGETS
Courtland Sutton, DEN at HOU
FanDuel = $7,300
DraftKings = $6,400
Despite all of the struggles that the Broncos have had at quarterback, Sutton still has recorded 54 catches for 906 yards and six touchdowns. Drew Lock made sure to get his top wide receiver involved in his first career start last week against the Chargers, leaving Sutton to catch four passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns. The Texans have allowed the fifth-most passing yards per game and are tied for the fifth-most passing touchdowns allowed in the league, leaving Sutton with plenty of upside.
James Washington, PIT at ARI
FanDuel = $6,700
DraftKings = $6,000
Things aren’t looking good for JuJu Smith-Schuster, who has missed the last two games with a knee injury. He ran for the first time Wednesday since suffering the injury and said he considers himself as being week-to-week. That doesn’t sound good for his chances of playing against the Cardinals, who have allowed the most passing yards per game and the most passing touchdowns. That could leave Washington in line for a big afternoon, especially since he posted seven catches for 209 yards and two touchdowns across the two previous games that Smith-Schuster has missed.
Zach Pascal, IND at TB
FanDuel = $6,100
DraftKings = $5,500
Speaking of teams who have been without their top wide receiver, the Colts have played without T.Y. Hilton (calf) in four of their last five games. Pascal has stepped in as their number one option in his absence and is coming off of seven catches for 109 yards last week against the Titans. If Hilton is unable to go again here, Pascal has a chance to explode against the Bucs, who have allowed the second-worst team in the league at defending the pass behind the Cardinals.
TIGHT END CASH TARGETS
Travis Kelce, KC at NE
FanDuel = $7,100
DraftKings = $6,200
Kelce has the highest floor of any tight end in the league. He’s recorded at least 58 receiving yards in all but one game this season and has received at least eight targets in all but two contests. Even though the Patriots have been one of the best defensive teams in the league, they’ve also taken advantage of an extremely favorable schedule. While pricey, Kelce is still extremely appealing in cash contests.
Jack Doyle, IND at TB
FanDuel = $6,300
DraftKings = $4,600
The Colts’ first game without Eric Ebron (ankle) highlighted how important Doyle will be to the team moving forward. He finished with 11 targets, six catches and 73 yards against the Titans last week, each of which was his season high. He also found his way into the end zone and should continue to be one of their top red zone targets. With how poorly the Bucs have defended the pass, Doyle is going to be difficult to pass up, especially considering his price on DraftKings.
TIGHT END GPP TARGETS
Ryan Griffin, NYJ vs. MIA
FanDuel = $5,600
DraftKings = $4,100
Attacking the Dolphins’ defense in DFS usually isn’t a bad idea. They have not only allowed the 10th-most passing yards per game, but their 29 passing touchdowns allowed are second only to the Cardinals. Griffin has started to emerge at tight end with Chris Herndon (ribs) lost for the season, catching at least four passes in four of their last six games. The last time he faced the Dolphins, he caught six of eight targets for 50 yards. Don’t be surprised if he provides a similar stat line in their rematch.
Mike Gesicki, MIA at NYJ
FanDuel = $5,400
DraftKings = $4,000
Another tight end who has taken on an expanded role as the season has worn on is Gesicki, who has received at least six targets in five straight games. He’s posted touchdowns in back-to-back games and also finished with 79 yards last week against the Eagles. The Dolphins will likely continue to rely on him more with wide receiver Preston Williams (knee) lost for the year, making Gesicki an interesting option if you want to save money at the position.
