NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 4 – TE & DEF/ST
An already thin tight end position is even worse in Week 4 with George Kittle and the 49ers on a bye. We’ll have to dig a little deeper at the position, but that doesn’t mean we still can’t find some fantasy gold. Let’s also dive into the defense/special team matchups and highlight which ones to target. TIGHT END CASH TARGETS
Evan Engram, NYG vs. WAS
FanDuel = $6,800
DraftKings = $5,700
The Giants haven’t had much talent to speak if at wide receiver this season, which has opened up an even more significant role for Engram. He was already expected to be one of their top catchers and he hasn’t disappointed, catching 23 of 30 targets for 277 yards and two touchdowns. After registering 113 yards and a touchdown last week during Daniel Jones’ first game as the starting quarterback, Engram is set to benefit for the Giants newfound passing attack.
Darren Waller, OAK an IND
FanDuel = $6,700
DraftKings = $5,200
Speaking of teams with a limited depth chart at wide receiver, the Raiders don’t have a lot of exciting options outside of Tyrell Williams. They have been forced to rely more on Waller, who has stepped up in a big way. Even though he is still looking for his first touchdown, he already has 26 catches on 29 targets for 267 yards. That includes a monster performance against the Vikings last week in which he had 13 receptions for 134 yards. Considering his role in the offense, he presents another high-floor option to target.
TIGHT END GPP TARGETS
Greg Olsen, CAR at HOU
FanDuel = $6,000
DraftKings = $4,200
After a quiet performance in Week 1 that saw him record four catches for 36 yards, the veteran Olsen has exploded for 185 yards and two touchdowns over the last two games. The key is that he has received at least seven targets in all three games, which is great for his prognosis moving forward. Even though he has been dealing with a back injury, he is expected to handle his normal workload for this matchup. Kyle Allen played well in place of Cam Newton (foot) and will start against this week, which might actually be an upgrade for Olsen considering how poorly Newton had been performing due to his injury.
Will Dissly, SEA at ARI
FanDuel = $5,400
DraftKings = $3,600
The season didn’t start out great for Dissly when he had one catch on two targets in Week 1. However, he’s been heavily involved in the offense sense, catching 11 of 12 targets for 112 yards and three touchdowns. This is a great matchup for him to keep things rolling since the Cardinals have been destroyed by tight ends this season. It’s been so bad that they have already allowed four touchdowns to the position.
DEF/ST CASH TARGETS
Los Angeles Chargers at Miami Dolphins
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $3,800
It’s not a bad idea to just target whichever defense is playing against the Dolphins every week. They have been simply dreadful, scoring 16 points through three games. Although Josh Rosen didn’t throw an interception in his first start, he had just 200 passing yards while the team gained a total of 72 yards on the ground. No need to overthink this one.
Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings
FanDuel = $4,700
DraftKings = $3,400
If you don’t want to pay up for the Chargers, the Bears are also a great option. They destroyed the Redskins last week, racking up four sacks and three interceptions along the way. They now have 11 sacks for the season and have allowed only 39 total points. The Vikings have an explosive running back in Dalvin Cook, but quarterback Kirk Cousins has thrown for fewer than 200 yards in two of their first three games and could be in trouble here on the road.
DEF/ST GPP TARGET
Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears
FanDuel = $4,000
DraftKings = $3,400
Staying in that same game, the Vikings also present some upside at a cheap price. They have 10 sacks of their own to go along with three interceptions. Despite the Bears scoring 31 points against the Redskins on Monday, they are not an explosive offense. Also, one of those scores came on a defensive touchdown. They posted a combined 19 points against the Packers and Broncos in their first two games and have the potential to struggle again here with the inconsistent Mitchell Trubisky at the helm.
