POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/22/18

Isaiah Thomas, LAL at NO
FanDuel = $5,600
DraftKings = $5,700

Thomas has had a couple of quiet offensive performances, scoring a total of 16 points in his last two games. He was a combined 0-for-7 from behind the arc, so it was mostly a matter of him being cold from the field. Before that, he had scored at least 20 points in three straight contests. Thursday brings a great matchup against a Pelicans team that plays at the third-fastest pace (102.4 possessions per game) and allows the second-most points per game (110.8) in the league, so look for Thomas to have a better offensive showing.

J.J. Barea, DAL vs. UTA
FanDuel = $5,600
DraftKings = $5,500

This is not a good matchup on the surface against a tough Jazz defense. However, the Mavericks will be without Wesley Matthews (leg) and Dennis Smith Jr. (ankle) on Thursday, which is going to leave Barea with a significant role. He logged 29 minutes with both players out Tuesday, finishing with 10 points, four rebounds, and eight assists. Barea has also played well against the Jazz in two previous games this season, averaging 17 points, 2.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and two three-pointers. There aren’t a lot of great cheap options at point guard, so Barea might be worth the risk.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/22/18

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, LAL at NO
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $6,200

Like Thomas, Caldwell-Pope is in a bit of an offensive slump, shooting just 5-for-16 (31.3%) in his last two games. He’s been able to contribute in other areas though, recording a combined 16 rebounds, five assists and two steals in those contests. He’s played at least 36 minutes in nine of his last ten games, so the heavy playing time helps to give him a high floor. Considering the Pelicans struggles on defense, Caldwell-Pope is another Lakers guard that is a viable option for your entry.

Luke Kennard, DET at HOU
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $4,000

Kennard has provided an offensive spark of late, scoring at least 10 points in five of his last six games. He played at least 24 minutes in all five of those games, each of which ended in lopsided scores. The Pistons have struggled down the stretch and the Rockets are rolling, so this game could get out of hand early as well. Kennard can provide value with added playing time, so he might be worth taking a chance on at this cheap price Thursday.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/22/18

E’Twaun Moore, NO vs. LAL
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,300

Moore had one of his best offensive performances of the season Wednesday, scoring 23 and hitting three three-pointers against the Pacers. He might not be one of the focal points of the Pelicans’ offense, but he has still managed to score at least 10 points in seven straight games. He gets a lot of time on the floor as well, logging at least 32 minutes in five of his last six games. Not only do the Pelicans play at a fast pace, but the Lakers play at the fastest pace (103.1) in the league. With added scoring possibilities possibly on tap Thursday, Moore is a nice value play once again.

Stanley Johnson, DET at HOU
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,200

Johnson is not a steady scorer, providing nine points or fewer in six of his eight games in March. However, he’s back in the starting lineup now, averaging nine points, five rebounds, and 2.7 steals in his last three games. He’s also been heavily involved in the offense but shot just 10-for-31 (32.3%) during that three-game stretch. If he can get a few more shots to fall Thursday, he could provide significant value when you combine that with his defensive abilities.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/22/18

Nikola Mirotic, NO vs. LAL
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $5,500

March has not been a good month for Mirotic as he is shooting just 38.9% from the field in 11 games. His usage rate was 21.9% during that stretch, so he’s still been heavily involved in the offense despite his struggles. He can score points in a hurry when he’s hot though, giving him upside considering his role in the offense. This has the makings of a high scoring game with how fast both of these teams play, making Mirotic a viable option for your entry.

Cheick Diallo, NO vs. LAL
FanDuel = $3,900
DraftKings = $3,800

Diallo has been a valuable contributor off the bench for the Pelicans, averaging 12 points and 10 rebounds in his last three games. Averaging only 10 minutes per game this season, Diallo played at least 20 minutes in all three of those contests. The Pelicans are playing their third game in three nights Thursday, so expect Diallo and the rest of their bench to see added minutes as they try not to burn out their starters. He could end up being one of the better value plays for the evening at any position.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/22/18

Dewayne Dedmon, ATL at SAC

DraftKings = $5,600

Dedmon had a surprisingly strong performance against Rudy Gobert and the Jazz on Tuesday, finishing with 15 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block. Even with the Hawks playing for nothing but a high pick in the draft, Dedmon has still logged at least 27 minutes in six of his last seven games. John Collins (ankle) is scheduled to miss his second straight game, freeing up even more minutes in the Hawks frontcourt. The Kings allow the second-most FanDuel points per game and the fifth-most DraftKings points per game to opposing centers, giving Dedmon some upside Thursday.

Mike Muscala, ATL at SAC
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,400

Muscala started at power forward with Collins out Tuesday, scoring eight points to go along with five rebounds, two steals, one block and two three-pointers in 30 minutes. He’s been dialed in from behind the arc, shooting a combined 13-for-25 (52%) on three-pointers in his last six games. The Hawks struggle to defend power forwards as well, allowing the seventh-most FanDuel points per game and the third-most DraftKings points per game to the position. If you want to go really cheap at center, Muscala is someone to consider.

Cameron Payne, CHI at MEM

Payne did not play well after the Bulls acquired him from the Thunder at the trade deadline last year and has missed most of this season due to injury. However, he’s healthy now and the Bulls are giving just about all of their young players an extended look. Payne has played at least 16 minutes in five straight games, averaging 10.2 points, two rebounds, 2.4 assists, two steals and 1.6 three-pointers. Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg even said they want to start giving Payne some minutes late in pressure situations, so more playing time could be on the horizon as well. The Grizzlies are really struggling right now, so Payne has some upside at near the minimum price.

T.J. McConnell, PHI at NY

DraftKings = $3,700

McConnell is in the middle of his worst month of the season, averaging just 4.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and one steal through seven games in March. He logged at least 20 minutes in all but one of those contests, so at least he is still seeing consistent playing time. In his last game against the Knicks just over a month ago, McConnell posted a triple-double in 37 minutes. Both Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid played in that game, but McConnell had the hot had. The Knicks have lost eight in a row and are really struggling defensively, so McConnell could be in line for a valuable performance Thursday.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/15/18

Ben McLemore, MEM vs. CHI

DraftKings = $5,200

The Grizzlies are still dealing with several injuries as Andrew Harrison (wrist) is out, Mario Chalmers (hamstring) is doubtful and Tyreke Evans (ribs) is questionable for Thursday. McLemore has taken on a larger role with the Grizzlies shorthanded, resulting in him playing at least 30 minutes in four of his last six games. The Bulls allow the third-most points per game on both FanDuel and DraftKings to opposing shooting guards, leaving McLemore as a viable option for your entry.

Luke Kennard, DET at DEN
FanDuel = $3,800
DraftKings = $3,800

With Stanley Johnson and Reggie Bullock (back) battling injuries lately, Kennard has played at least 31 minutes in three straight games. He made the most of his opportunity, averaging 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, three assists and 1.3 three-pointers in those contests. Johnson did return Tuesday against the Jazz, but Kennard still managed to play 36 minutes in a blowout loss with Bullock out. Bullock is listed as questionable Thursday and if he is out again, Kennard becomes a player to consider at this price.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/15/18

Dillon Brooks, MEM vs. CHI
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $4,800

Brooks has taken on a larger role in the Grizzlies offense due to all of their injuries, posting a 25.4% usage rate in March. He doesn’t provide many rebounds or assists, but he is averaging 20.2 points and 2.4 three-pointers in his last five contests. One of those games came against these same Bulls when he finished with 29 points and five three-pointers. The Bulls allow the seventh-most points per game (109.5) in the league, so don’t be surprised if Brooks has another big scoring night.

C.J. Miles, TOR at IND
FanDuel = $3,500
DraftKings = $3,700

The Raptors are expected to have limited depth at small forward Thursday with both OG Anunoby (ankle) and Normal Powell (ankle) listed as doubtful. Even if he doesn’t start, expect Miles to see more playing time in this contest. He has logged at least 20 minutes in a game 20 times this season, averaging 12.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and three three-pointers per contest. His main contribution is on the offensive end, but he’s priced low enough to consider Thursday even with his limitations in other categories.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/15/18

Jarrell Martin, MEM vs. CHI

DraftKings = $5,100

Martin completes the trio of cheap Grizzlies players to consider Thursday. He’s been one of the more consistent players for the Grizzlies down the stretch, averaging 15.5 points, six rebounds, 2.7 assists and one three-pointer in his last six games. His playing time has increased in each of the last three months and is sitting at a season-high 30 minutes per game in March. Added playing time against the Bulls poor defense is a recipe for success Thursday.

Noah Vonleh, CHI at MEM
FanDuel = $3,600
DraftKings = $3,800

Vonleh started the Bulls last game Tuesday against the Clippers with Lauri Markkanen (back) out, finishing with eight points, seven rebounds, two assists and one steal in 27 minutes. His line could have been even better too if he didn’t shoot just 3-for-11 from the field. Markkanen won’t play Thursday either, so expect Vonleh to see an expanded role once again. His upside isn’t very high, but he can threaten for a double-double with the added minutes.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/15/18

Enes Kanter, NY vs. PHI
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $6,700

Kanter did not play Sunday because of a back injury but he returned Tuesday to grab 15 rebounds in 21 minutes. He wasn’t aggressive offensively in his limited playing time, attempting just four shots. He’s played very well in two previous games against the Sixers this season, averaging 24 points and 17.5 rebounds. Kanter had a double-double in three of his previous four games before suffering his injury, so he could be in line for a big performance Thursday.

Mike Muscala, ATL vs. CHA

DraftKings = $3,800

The Hawks backcourt is dealing with several injuries right now, but they’re healthy at power forward and center. Even with their full complement of big men, Muscala has played at least 20 minutes in nine of his last 10 games. While they aren’t eye-popping numbers, Muscala has averaged 12.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, one block and three three-pointers in his last three contests. Both the Hawks and the Hornets are in the top 10 in the league in pace of play, so Muscala could get an added opportunity to provide value even in limited minutes Thursday.

Point Guards

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 2/28/18

Andrew Harrison, vs. Suns (FD: $6,000, DK: $5,700)
Projected Points: FD: 29.79, DK: 29.26

While Tyreke Evans sits out with his ribs injury, Harrison has taken full advantage of the usage rate (as it has increased 3.67%). Not only is Evans out but so many of the other Grizzlies are struggling with injuries as well right now. Which leaves Harrison in prime position to soak up the minutes and score the points especially against one of the top ten worst defenses in the league. Last time out versus the Suns Harrison scored 30 DraftKings / Fanduel points on 30 minutes of play.

J.J. Barea, vs. Thunder (FD: $6,500, DK: $5,800)
Projected Points: FD: 29.51, DK: 31.42

Barea had a quick move to the bench on Monday but still managed to garner 36 DraftKings points / 33 FanDuel points in 26 minutes of play. Shooting 7-of-11, dishing out nine assists while making three 3-pointers for 19 points. Now they decided that his production is so key to the team that they can’t keep him on the bench as he is back in the starting lineup tonight. He is a consistent player with a great price on DraftKings.

 

Shootings Guards

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 2/28/18

Evan Fournier, vs. Raptors (FD: $5,900, DK: $5,300)
Projected Points: FD: 26.87, DK: 27.76

Orlando and Toronto are currently eighth and ninth in pace-of-play, this means plenty of scoring opportunities for as there is a Vegas total of 221 tonight. Fournier has definitely been seeing the minutes, ever since the Magic sent Elfrid Payton to the Suns. If he gets his regular playing time of around 34-35 minutes he might be able to produce near the top of his ceiling against the Suns, meaning 40 fantasy points.

Josh Jackson, vs. Grizzlies (FD: $5,100, DK: $5,600)
Projected Points: FD: 17.69, DK: 17.74

Why isn’t Josh Jackson constantly in the starting rotation? I’m not sure that’s a great question. His minutes hit are generally 27-30 making him a fairly good runner-up for the sixth man of the year award (we all know that Lou Williams will win this again, right?) Jackson was impressive Monday night versus the Pelicans, scoring 20 points with 12 rebounds and getting that not so coveted double-double. Last time out versus the Grizzlies Jackson managed to score 31.5 DraftKing points and 29.6 FanDuel points.

 

Small Forward

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 2/28/18

Taurean Prince, vs. Pacers (FD: $5,200, DK: $5,700)
Projected Points: FD: 23.19, DK: 23.33

Prince is coming off of a game in which he hit a total of 24 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals. For a total of 40 DraftKings / Fanduel points. His numbers seem to be steadily increasing, which if you believe in that sort of thing, this means he could be on the start of a heater.

Trevor Ariza, vs. Clippers (FD: $4,700, DK: $4,600)
Projected Points: FD: 23.89, DK: 24.02

Now this one comes with a warning, Ariza recently missed nine games with a hamstring injury. His coach says that he may limit him, but he really has yet to have done so. This is one of those picks where it could go either way, he has done well against the Clippers in the past and we are expecting the total to be the highest in the league tonight. Sometimes you get a feeling that’s beyond description, Ariza is that gut-feeling for me tonight.

 

Power Forward

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 2/28/18

Davis Bertans, vs. Pelicans (FD: $4100, DK: $3900)
Projected Points: FD: 11.46, DK: 11.65

Pau Gasol (knee) has been ruled out Wednesday night, making his way into the starting lineup is Bertans again. He generally gets minutes in the high 20’s – low 30’s when he starts and versus a Pelicans squad who are not that great of a defensive squad down-low I would expect about a 20 floor, 27 ceiling from Bertans tonight. Which means, not *great* production, but he is a fantastic guy if you’re looking to save some money so that you can put in one of those studs that Mike Barner talks about in his Sports Illustrated article today.

Jarell Martin, vs. Suns (FD: $4100, DK: $4400)
Projected Points: FD: 22.93, DK: 22.8

First of all, the Phoenix Suns are the worst (in the past four weeks) at guarding the power forward position. Averaging 61.36 fantasy points to competitors and giving up 15.55 rebounds per game. Secondly, Martin’s minute increase in the past three games has seen a boost by nearly 8 mins per game. When he started last time versus the Suns he scored 27 DraftKings and 30 FanDuel points in 34 minutes.

 

 

Center

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 2/28/18

Andre Drummond, vs. Bucks (FD: $10,300, DK: $9,600)
Projected Points: FD: 50.44, DK: 51.08

The center position is always a position you want to try to pay up for, simply because they generally receive the most points. Drummond is on a heater, there’s no denying that he’ll probably be the chalkiest of options at the position. But, I think he is definitely the guy to pay up for today. Last time out versus the Bucks he scored 62 DraftKings and 59 FanDuel points. He is a must play in all formats on DraftKings and if you can afford him, FanDuel as well.

Marcin Gortat, vs. Warriors (FD: $4700, DK: $4800)
Projected Points: FD: 18.54, DK: 18.55

Gortat is not a bad cheap option, if you need a salary saver, at the position. You just have to find the nights when he is capable of scoring at least 30 fantasy points. Tonight is one of those nights. Last time out versus the Warriors he scored 33 DraftKings and FanDuel points. Not a bad punt play if you need one here.

J.J. Barea, DAL at LAL

DraftKings = $5,400

Barea continues to have a significant role with the Mavericks as his 24.7% usage rate is second-highest on the team. He played well in his last game against the Lakers, scoring 10 points to go along with nine assists and one steal in just 24 minutes. The Lakers play at the fastest pace (103.1 possessions per game) in the league, which leaves Barea with an added ability to be productive even in limited playing time.  He also has a high ceiling if he can approach 30 minutes, making him someone to consider for your entry.

Andrew Harrison, MEM vs. CLE
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $4,300

Harrison played well while the Grizzlies were resting Tyreke Evans as they attempted to trade him, possibly earning himself a bigger role even though Evans has now returned. Harrison played 33 minutes in the Grizzlies’ last game against the Thunder, scoring 28 points and hitting five three-pointers. Evans was excellent in that game as well, which is a good sign for Harrison moving forward. Wayne Seldon Jr. (knee) has already been ruled out Friday and Mario Chalmers (ankle) is listed as questionable, so Harrison should get enough playing time to provide value at this cheap price.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 2/23/18

Nicolas Batum, CHA at WAS
FanDuel = $6,100
DraftKings = $5,700

Batum is clearly one of the secondary offensive options on the Hornets behind Kemba Walker and Dwight Howard. He doesn’t need to score a ton to provide value though because of his ability to contribute across the board. Thursday’s game against the Nets was a prime example as he only scored 10 points, but chipped in five rebounds, seven assists, one steal, one block and two three-pointers. Don’t be afraid to take a chance on him again Friday.

J.R. Smith, CLE at MEM
FanDuel = $4,800
DraftKings = $4,600

The Cavaliers drastically changed their roster at the trade deadline, but Smith has played at least 29 minutes in all three games since the new players arrived. He’s made a case to continue to have a significant role on the team, averaging 16.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.0 steal and 3.0 three-pointers during that stretch. Although his minutes may eventually decline as the new players get acclimated to the team, Smith’s value in the short term should still hold. At this price, he might be worth the risk if you want to save money at shooting guard.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 2/23/18

Bojan Bogdanovic, IND vs. ATL
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $5,500

Bogdanovic is having his best month of the season, averaging 18.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.0 steal and 2.8 three-pointers in six games. He also has a 20.1% usage rate in February, higher than any other month this season. Friday brings a great matchup against the Hawks, who allow the most points per game on FanDuel and the second-most points per game on DraftKings to opposing small forwards. His upside isn’t extremely high since he doesn’t provide much outside of scoring, but he can still provide value Friday.

Kelly Oubre Jr., WAS vs. CHA
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $4,500

Oubre is not a consistent offensive player, scoring seven points or less in three of his last eight games. He is still one of the Wizards primary weapons off the bench though and has grabbed at least five rebounds in four of his last six games. He has upside when his shot is falling, evident by his performance Thursday against the Cavaliers when he scored 17 points and hit three three-pointers. If Oubre was consistent offensively, he wouldn’t be priced this low. Based on the significant amount of playing time he receives off the bench and his potential ceiling, he is a viable option to consider.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 2/23/18

Marcus Morris, BOS at DET
FanDuel = $4,800
DraftKings = $5,400

The Celtics were quiet at the trade deadline with the only move they made being the signing of Greg Monroe after he was bought out by the Suns. They still don’t have a lot of great offensive weapons outside of Kyrie Irving, leaving Morris as one of their better scorers. His usage rate of 22.6% isn’t overly impressive, but it is second highest on the team. Morris is averaging 12.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.8 three-pointers in five February games and could provide value again Friday.

Jae Crowder, UTA vs. POR
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $4,500

Crowder’s brief tenure with the Cavaliers was a disaster, so things could only go up from there. He’s showed early signs that the change of scenery has been beneficial, averaging 14.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steal and 2.0 three-pointers in three games with the Jazz. He averaged 29 minutes during that stretch as well, which is almost four minutes more than he was averaging in Cleveland. Expect him to have an increased role moving forward, which makes him someone to consider at this cheap price.

Dedmon is expected to stay in the starting lineup for the time being, which is a big boost for his value. In 24 starts this season, he is averaging 11.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. He is also averaging 25 minutes per game as a starter compared to only 21 minutes per game off the bench. Friday brings a favorable matchup against the Pacers, who allow the third most points per game on both FanDuel and DraftKings to opposing centers. As long as he sticks in the starting lineup, he’s a viable option for your entry.

Alex Len, PHO vs. LAC

DraftKings = $4,800

Len hasn’t always received consistent playing time this season but could be in line for an expanded role Friday with Tyson Chandler (neck) doubtful to play. Chandler didn’t play in the team’s last game before the break against the Jazz either, which resulted in Len logging 38 minutes. Len took full advantage of the opportunity, scoring 14 points to go along with seven rebounds, five blocks, and three steals. The Suns are going to need his size to battle with DeAndre Jordan in this game, giving Len the potential to provide significant value.

It’s important to know the intricacies of the NBA schedule to gain an advantage over your opponent in a head-to-head fantasy league as starting your best players might not always give you the best chance to win. Here are some moves you might want to consider for your team based on the week ahead.

Teams With The Most Games – 3 Games Each
Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards

The NBA has a short week due to the All-Star break, but players on the four teams that play three games each can give you a significant edge. Consider adding the players below who are still available in the majority of leagues.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 19

Larry Nance Jr., Cleveland Cavaliers

Nance has only averaged 23 minutes in his first two games with the Cavaliers but has had an immediate impact, averaging 9.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, one steal and one block. He was one rebound shy of posting a double-double in his second game and should continue to get more playing time as he gets acclimated to his new teammates. The Cavaliers have very little depth up front with Kevin Love (hand) out, furthering their need for Nance to become a significant contributor quickly. He’s still available in 51% of Yahoo! leagues and could be a valuable addition to your lineup this week.

Tomas Satoransky, Washington Wizards

The Wizards were dealt a significant blow when John Wall (knee) was injured, but Satoransky has stepped up in his absence to be a valuable fantasy contributor. In seven games in February, Satoransky is averaging 12.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.6 three-pointers. This week he faces a Sixers team that plays at the fifth-fastest pace (101.6 possessions per game) in the league, a Cavaliers team that allows the fourth-most points per game (110) in the league and a bad Hornets squad. He’s still available in 70% of Yahoo! leagues and is an excellent option if you need a point guard.

T.J. McConnell, Philadelphia 76ers

McConnell’s production is very much hit or miss. In two of his last four games, he had at least 10 points, eight assists and two steals in each contest. In the other two games, he had four points, five assists and one steal combined. The good news is the Sixers have a great schedule this week, playing the Bulls, Magic, and Wizards. The Bulls and Magic are two of the worst teams in the league at defending opposing point guards and the Wizards are without their best player at the position. McConnell is a bit risky, but he has upside with the added games. He’s still available in 87% of Yahoo! leagues and is someone to consider adding.

Teams With The Fewest Games – 1 Game Each
Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors

With just four teams playing one game each this week, you could be at a significant disadvantage if you have any of those players on your team. Consider benching the players below who you might otherwise have in your starting lineup as a result.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 19

Myles Turner, Indiana Pacers

Turner has been a disappoint this season, averaging only 13.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. He’s still providing a lot of blocks, but he doesn’t record many steals and is shooting a career-low 48.8% from the field. With just six double-doubles this season, it will be tough to get enough production from him during a one-game week. Put him on your bench until the schedule swings back in his favor with four games in Week 20.

Dennis Schroder, Atlanta Hawks

Schroder is the best player on the rebuilding Hawks, resulting in a 30.4% usage rate that ranks inside the top-10 in the league. He hasn’t been outstanding outside of scoring though, averaging 3.1 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.1 steals this season. Based on his inability to contribute across the board, it’s hard to justify starting him on your squad with only one game this week.

Spencer Dinwiddie, Brooklyn Nets

Fantasy owners aren’t going to complain about the production they have received from Dinwiddie this season. He’s averaging career-highs across the board with 13.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.9 three-pointers per game. He continues to hold onto a starting role even with D’Angelo Russell finally healthy. His overall numbers carry value, but not enough in a week with just one game. Put him on your bench for now, but take solace in the fact that the Nets play four games in Week 20.

VanVleet has been one of the most productive players off the bench for the Raptors, averaging 13.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.0 three-pointers in his last eight games. He is shooting career-highs from the field (43.5%), from the charity stripe (86.7%) and from behind the arc (41.4%), which has allowed him to be productive even in limited minutes. The Bulls allow the seventh-most points per game (109) in the league, leaving VanVleet as someone to consider for Wednesday.

Emmanuel Mudiay, NY vs. WAS

DraftKings = $4,500

Mudiay has had mixed results in his first two games with the Knicks, but the good news is that he played at least 19 minutes in both contests. He played more minutes than Jarrett Jack in both games and should be in line for added playing time moving forward. He showed his potential by scoring 14 points and dishing out 10 assists Sunday, which is excellent production at this price. The Wizards could be very thin at point guard Wednesday with Tim Frazier (nose) out and Tomas Satoransky (head) questionable, giving Mudiay the potential to provide value.

SHOOTING GUARDS

Nicolas Batum, CHA at ORL

Batum might not be highly owned Wednesday because he averaged just 7.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in his last two games. He was very productive before those struggles though, averaging 18.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.8 assists in his previous six contests. The Magic have struggled to defend opposing shooting guards, allowing the fourth-most points per game on both FanDuel and DraftKings to the position. The Magic also play at the seventh-fastest pace (100.8 possessions per game) in the league, leaving Batum with upside in this game.

Bogdan Bogdanovic, SAC at HOU

DraftKings = $5,400

The Kings have shifted towards giving their young players more playing time, leading Bogdanovic to log at least 31 minutes in four straight games. He’s made the most of his opportunity, averaging 14.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.3 three-pointers per game. The Rockets score the second-most points per game (114.4) in the league, so the Kings are going to need all the offense they can get from Bogdanovic to keep this game close. He is worth considering for your entry as a result.

SMALL FORWARDS

Bogdanovic has stepped up his offensive game lately, averaging 20.0 points and 3.0 three-pointers in his last six games. He’s been extremely efficient, shooting 54.3% from the field during that stretch. He gets an excellent matchup Wednesday against the Nets, who play at the sixth-fastest pace (101.2) and allow the fifth-most points per game (109.7) in the league. He doesn’t provide much outside of scoring, but he doesn’t need to in order to have value at this price.

Reggie Bullock, DET vs. ATL

DraftKings = $5,000

Bullock continues to get extended playing time with Avery Bradley out of the picture, logging at least 34 minutes in six of his last seven games. He has played at least 30 minutes in a game 20 times this season, averaging 14.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.9 three-pointers in those contests. He just scored 20 points and grabbed five rebounds against these same Hawks on Sunday, which is not surprising considering their struggles. Bullock could be in line for a productive evening in their rematch.

POWER FORWARDS

With Kelly Olynyk (shoulder) out and the Heat benching Hassan Whiteside during the fourth quarter of games, Adebayo has gained added opportunities to produce. He has shown that he has upside, posting a double-double in three of his last six games. The Heat just played the Sixers earlier this month and Adebayo finished that game with 15 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists. Don’t be afraid to take a chance on him again Wednesday.

Marcus Morris, BOS vs. LAC
FanDuel = $4,700
DraftKings = $5,200

The Celtics are a great team, but they have scored the sixth-fewest points per game (102.9) in the league this season. Outside of Kyrie Irving, Morris might be one of the best scoring options on their roster. His usage rate of 23.1% certainly indicates that as it is the second-highest on the team. The Clippers play at the eighth-fastest pace (100.6) in the league, so Morris could have added opportunities to provide value in this game.

CENTERS

Turner isn’t very cheap, but he certainly won’t kill your budget. He’s struggling right now, scoring 13 points or less and grabbing six rebounds or less in three of his last four games. Wednesday could be an entirely different story though because the Nets allow the most points per game on both FanDuel and DraftKings to opposing centers. Turner has already faced them three times this season, averaging 20.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and 4.0 blocks in those contests. He has tremendous upside Wednesday.

Dedmon has started the last two games for the Hawks, averaging 16.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.0 block. If Dedmon is going to continue to play around 30 minutes per game, he’s going to be a double-double threat on a nightly basis. He just scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds against the Pistons on Sunday and could provide valuable numbers again in their rematch.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 18

Dewayne Dedmon, Atlanta Hawks

Since returning from injury, Dedmon has mostly come off the bench for the Hawks. However, they decided to change things up Sunday and started Dedmon against the Pistons. He played 31 minutes as a result, finishing with 20 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and one block. The Hawks won the game and coach Mike Budenholzer said afterward that they would probably stick with the same starting lineup moving forward. That’s good news for Dedmon, especially since one of his two games this week comes against a Bucks team that struggles to defend centers and the other comes against the Pistons again. He’s still available in 62% of Yahoo! leagues and could give you a boost at center this week.

D.J. Augustin, Orlando Magic

The Magic traded Elfrid Payton to the Suns, opening up the starting point guard role for Augustin. He played 35 minutes in the Magic’s first game without Payton, scoring 18 points to go along with nine assists, two steals, and two three-pointers. However, he played just 23 minutes Saturday against the Bucks as Shelvin Mack had the hot hand, logging 28 minutes and posting a double-double. Augustin should continue to start going forward and will likely play closer to 30 minutes on a nightly basis. He gets to face two bad teams in the Bulls and Hornets this week, leaving him with upside. If you need help at point guard, he is still available in 69% of Yahoo! leagues.

Emmanuel Mudiay, New York Knicks

Mudiay thrived in his debut with the Knicks on Sunday, scoring 14 points to go along with 10 assists in 29 minutes. The Knicks are going nowhere with Kristaps Porzingis (knee) out for the season and have stated they want to give their young players an extended look moving forward. Starting point guard Jarrett Jack played only eight minutes Sunday and might not play much down the stretch. Mudiay is still available in 81% of Yahoo! leagues and is worth considering if you need help this week.

Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers, Washington Wizards

Eight teams play only one game each this week, leaving their players with limited upside. As a result, consider benching the players below who you might otherwise have in your starting lineup.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 18

Jusuf Nurkic, Portland Trail Blazers

Nurkic left Sunday’s game against the Jazz and did not return due to lower back soreness and pain in his right hip. With only one game this week, it’s possible the Trail Blazers sit him so he gets extended rest over the break. Even if he does play, it’s not a good matchup against a Warriors team that likes to use a lot of small lineups. It’s not worth the risk starting him this week based on his limited potential.

Harrison Barnes, Dallas Mavericks

Barnes has been one of the best offensive players on the Mavericks this season, averaging 18.3 points and 1.4 three-pointers per game. The problem is, he provides very little production in terms of assists, steals and blocks and his 6.6 rebounds per game isn’t a difference maker either. Since he usually doesn’t provide much outside of scoring, it might not be a bad idea to sit him this week if you need help in other categories.

Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics

Tatum has been excellent for the Celtics this year, but his game doesn’t always translate to great fantasy production. He hasn’t excelled in any one area, averaging 13.6 points, 5.1 rebounds. 1.4 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.8 blocks and 1.3 three-pointers per game. Those types of numbers can be valuable on a week where he has extra games, but with only one game this week, the best decision might be to place him on your bench.

Teague has limited upside because of his lack of scoring opportunities playing alongside Jimmy Butler, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Andrew Wiggins. There is still the potential for value though under the right circumstances because he is averaging 33 minutes per game this season. He scored 14 points and dished out 15 assists Wednesday in a favorable matchup against a Cavaliers team that struggles to defend point guards. He gets a similar opponent Friday as the Bulls allow the fifth-most points per game on FanDuel and the third-most points per game on DraftKings to the position. At this reasonable price, Teague has upside.

Joe Young, IND at BOS
FanDuel = $3,700
DraftKings = $3,000

The Pacers are without starting point guard Darren Collison (knee), which could open up some extra minutes for Young. In the first game that Collison missed Monday against the Wizards, Young played 28 minutes and scored 17 points to go along with five three-pointers. It’s important to note that Victor Oladipo also did not play in that game, but he should be fine for Friday. Young may not see the same amount of minutes, but his shooting performance could still lead to a somewhat expanded role. Considering he is dirt cheap on both sites, it might be worth taking a chance on him in tournament play.

SHOOTING GUARDS

While the Hornets may have been looking to deal Batum leading up to the NBA trade deadline Thursday, he ultimately was not traded and should continue to have a significant role with the team. Not only is Batum averaging 18.5 points in his last six games, but he also dished out at least five assists in four of those contests. His ability to provide numbers across the board gives him value, making him someone to consider for your entry again Friday.

J.R. Smith, CLE at ATL
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $4,800

The Cavaliers were very active at the deadline Thursday, making several key moves as they push towards a long playoff run. While they created more quality depth, their new players are not expected to be available to play Friday. This leaves a lot of extra minutes for the players who are still available, including Smith. Smith can score in a hurry and gets to face a bad Hawks defense, making him a viable option at this price.

SMALL FORWARDS

Stanley Johnson, DET vs. LAC

DraftKings = $5,100

Johnson has seen an expanded role since the Clippers traded away Avery Bradley, logging at least 34 minutes in four straight games. His production hasn’t been off the charts, but he’s averaged a respectable 13.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals during that stretch. The Pistons did add a couple of players to their bench at the deadline, but no one who should significantly impact Johnson’s playing time Friday. His upside isn’t that high, but he is still someone to consider based on his price.

Taurean Prince, ATL vs. CLE

DraftKings = $4,900

Prince has flashed his potential but has been very inconsistent this season overall. In his last six games, he has scored at least 19 points twice but scored five points or less three times. That’s a wild swing. The good news for Friday is that he plays a Cavaliers team that will not only be lacking depth, but the players left are not exactly world class defenders. If you want to take a chance on a cheap small forward in tournament play, Prince could help you cash in if his shot is falling.

POWER FORWARDS

John Collins, ATL vs. CLE

DraftKings = $4,800

The Hawks didn’t make any significant trades to free up minutes for Collins on Thursday, which could hinder his long-term value. There is still the possibility that they buy out one of their veterans, but it appears Collins minutes will continue to be limited for now. However, despite playing just 26 minutes in both of his last two games, he still averaged 12.0 points and 11.0 rebounds. With the Cavaliers depth issues Friday, Collins could still provide value for your entry.

Jeff Green, CLE at ATL

Green is another player on the Cavaliers who should benefit from their short rotations Friday. He has played at least 30 minutes in a game only twice this season, but averaged 20.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in those two contests. He could be in line for similar playing time in this game, so don’t be afraid to take a chance on him in tournament play.

CENTERS

The Trail Blazers did not make any significant additions to their frontcourt Thursday, leaving Nurkic to anchor them in the middle for the foreseeable future. He’s not always the most consistent option, but he has scored at least 12 points and grabbed at least seven rebounds in six of his last seven games. The Kings allow the fourth-most points per game on FanDuel and the fifth-most points per game on DraftKings to opposing centers, leaving Nurkic as someone to consider for your lineup.

Greg Monroe, BOS vs. IND

DraftKings = $4,300

Monroe made his debut with the Celtics on Thursday, scoring five points to go along with six rebounds, two assists and two steals in 20 minutes. He only took five shots in the game, but expect his role in the offense to expand as he becomes more familiar with his teammates. Friday brings a favorable matchup as the Pacers allow the third-most points per game on FanDuel and the second-most points per game on DraftKings to opposing centers. He’s healthy now and has played in six straight games, averaging 8.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 0.7 blocks over that stretch. While his numbers don’t jump off the charts and he’s coming off the bench now, having someone who can at least approach a double-double every night of a four-game week can provide value. He faces the Jazz, Raptors, Hornets and Wizards this week, all four of which are teams with big centers. Dedmon could see some added playing time as a result. He’s still available in 58% of Yahoo! leagues and is someone to target if you need help in the middle.

T.J. McConnell, Philadelphia 76ers

Sixers guard J.J. Redick (leg) has missed the last two games due to injury, opening up added playing time for McConnell. He’s taken full advantage of the opportunity, averaging 13.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.0 three-pointer in those two contests. The initial diagnosis for Redick suggests that he could be out for part, or all, of Week 15, which would give McConnell a significant boost in value. McConnell has proven he can produce with added minutes, averaging 12.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 2.0 steals in seven games that he has played at least 30 minutes in this season. Still available in 70% of Yahoo! leagues, McConnell could be in store for a big week.

Wesley Johnson, Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers have been one of the teams hit hardest by injuries this season, which has led to some unexpectedly productive players on their roster. Johnson is one of them, who is averaging 24 minutes per game this year. That’s double his playing time average with the Clippers last season. His overall numbers don’t jump off the page, but he’s been playing much better of late, averaging 13.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 0.8 steals, 1.2 blocks and 2.6 three-pointers in his last five games. He’s still available in 91% of Yahoo! leagues and is a worthy pickup, especially if you need help in three-pointers.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 15

Evan Fournier, Orlando Magic

Fournier has been an excellent source of offense for the Magic, averaging 18.0 points and 2.2 three-pointers per game. The problem is, those are the only counting stats where he provides significant value as he is averaging just 3.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 0.9 steals per game. With only two games this week, he likely won’t have enough opportunities to accumulate points and three-pointers to warrant starting.

Bismack Biyombo, Orlando Magic

Biyombo has done an excellent job filling in for Nikola Vucevic (hand), averaging 9.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 12 games. He does get two juicy matchups against the Kings and Pacers, two of the worst teams in the league at defending the center position. However, with so many other teams playing four games each, it’s tough to roll out Biyombo based on his limited offensive upside. He will continue to be valuable for as long as Vucevic is out, but this might be the week to place him on your bench.

There are nine games in the NBA on Friday, leaving plenty of elite options to choose from for your DFS entry. In order to fit them in though, you need to find those cheaper value plays, or “sleepers” if you will, to help you bring home some money. Consider using the players below to hopefully end your night a winner.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers

Ricky Rubio, UTA at CHA
FanDuel = $5,100
DraftKings = $5,600

Rubio has seen his assists drop off dramatically in his first season with the Jazz, averaging only 4.8 per game. His previous career low was 7.3 in the 2012-13 season and he had averaged a career-high 9.1 per game with the Timberwolves last year. However, he’s showing signs of his all-around game improving lately, averaging 13.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.6 three-pointers in his last five games. He’s still averaging 29 minutes per game this season, so he’ll likely have the ball in his hands enough to provide value Friday.

Malcolm Delaney, ATL vs. BKN

DraftKings = $3,700

The rebuilding Hawks don’t have much depth, which has led to Delaney averaging a career-high 19 minutes per game this season. He’s coming off back-to-back solid performances against the Clippers and Nuggets where he averaged 9.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game. This has the makings of a promising matchup against a Nets team that deploys a lot of small lineups and plays at the fifth-fastest pace (102.4 possessions per game) in the league. His upside is limited at best, but he can provide value at this extremely cheap price.

SHOOTING GUARDS

Malcolm Brogdon, MIL vs. GS

DraftKings = $5,500

Brogdon has come off the bench for the majority of this season but has now started each of the last three games. He did start the first nine games he played this season but his numbers during that time period have to be taken into context because Eric Bledsoe had not yet joined the team. He has played well in the last three starts though, averaging 12.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest. The Warriors play at the fourth-fastest-pace (102.7) in the league and use a lot of small lineups, leaving Brogdon with an opportunity to shine in this game.

Caris LeVert, BKN at ATL

DraftKings = $5,500

LeVert has done an excellent job helping run the offense with all of the Nets injuries this year, averaging 4.2 assists per game. Before missing two games with a groin injury, LeVert had at least 12 points, five rebounds, and seven assists in four straight games. He hasn’t played as well in two games since returning, but it shows what kind of upside he can provide. In his last game against the Hawks, LeVert scored 17 points to go along with two rebounds, six assists, and two steals. He is someone you should consider for your entry again Friday.

SMALL FORWARDS

Gerald Green, HOU at PHO

DraftKings = $5,500

Green has helped pick up the slack offensively with James Harden (hamstring) out, averaging 19.0 points and 4.6 three-pointers in his last seven games. His usage rate is 21.7%, which is fourth-highest on the team behind Harden, Chris Paul, and Eric Gordon. Friday brings an excellent matchup against the Suns who play at the third-fastest pace (102.8) and allow the most points per game (112.1) in the league. Look for Green to score plenty in this game.

Joe Ingles, UTA at CHA

DraftKings = $4,800

While Green’s value comes from his ability to score, Ingles’ comes from his ability to contribute across the board. It’s not sexy, but his averages of 8.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.6 three-pointers provide value at this price. He’s averaging 31 minutes per game this season, which has led to career-highs almost across the board. The Hornets allow the second-most DraftKings points per game and the third-most FanDuel points per game to opposing small forwards, making Ingles someone to consider for this game.

POWER FORWARDS

JaMychal Green, MEM at DEN

DraftKings = $4,700

Green is coming off his best performance on the season when he scored 20 points to go along with 14 rebounds, two steals, and one block Wednesday against the Pelicans. One of the keys to his performance was that he played 34 minutes. He has played at least 30 minutes in a game 10 times this season, averaging 12.7 points and 7.6 rebounds in those contests. He could be in store for added minutes again Friday with the Nuggets going big with both Nikola Jokic and Mason Plumlee in their starting five. The Nuggets allow the fifth-most DraftKings points per game and the sixth-most FanDuel points per game to opposing power forwards, leaving Green as a nice option.

Dragan Bender, PHO vs. HOU
FanDuel = $3,500
DraftKings = $4,300

Bender will move into the starting lineup Friday with Marquese Chriss (hip) already ruled out. Chriss also left early in the Suns last game Monday against the Thunder due to the same injury. As a result, Bender ended up playing 39 minutes. He did not let the added minutes go to waste, scoring 20 points to go along with six rebounds, four assists, one steal, three blocks and a staggering six three-pointers. This has the makings of a great matchup as both the Suns and the Rockets are in the top-eight in the league in terms of pace of play. At this price, Bender could be the best value play of the night.

CENTERS

Mason Plumlee, DEN vs. MEM
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $4,500

Plumlee has now started 19 of the last 20 games for the Nuggets, averaging 8.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 blocks in his new role. He only averaged 17 minutes per game coming off the bench this season but has averaged 24 minutes as a starter. Finding cheap center options can be difficult, especially on FanDuel where there is no position flexibility. That being said, Plumlee should be able to average enough across the board to present a viable option.

Marcin Gortat, WAS vs. ORL
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,900

Gortat had averaged at least 30 minutes per game in each of the last six seasons but has seen his role change this year. He enters Friday averaging just 27 minutes per game, playing at least 30 minutes in a game only three times in his last 20 contests. His numbers have declined as you would have expected, but he’s still averaged a respectable 9.1 points and 8.1 rebounds. Friday brings a favorable matchup against a Magic team that struggles to defend the center position, so Gortat could be productive even in limited minutes.
