We’ve got nine games on the NBA schedule Monday, including an exciting matchup between the Lakers and Spurs. Let’s try to add even more fun to the evening with some winning entries in DFS. POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 10/22/18

J.J. Barea, DAL vs. CHI
FanDuel = $4,900

The Mavericks certainly have a lot to be excited about with two promising young players in Luka Doncic and Dennis Smith Jr. They also have some valuable veterans on this roster. One of them is Barea, who has been stalwart of their second unit for many years. This season has been no different with him averaging 10.5 points, two rebounds, 10.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 three-pointers over his first two games. Although he doesn’t log a ton of minutes, he can still be valuable based on his 20.6 percent usage rate and ability to rack up assists.

Bryn Forbes, SA at LAL
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $4,600

If it wasn’t for bad luck, the Spurs would have no luck at all this season when it comes to their point guards. Dejounte Murray (knee) is out for the year and Derrick White is still working his way back from a heel injury. Forbes has started both games in their absence, averaging 14 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, one steal, and three three-pointers. He’s not your traditional point guard in terms of his assists, but his ability to shoot from behind the arc leaves him with upside, especially against a Lakers team that plays at such a fast pace.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 10/22/18

Josh Hart, LAL vs. SA

DraftKings = $5,100

The Lakers will be without two key parts of their rotation for this game with Rajon Rondo and Brandon Ingram both suspended. Several players will likely be in line for increased opportunities, including Hart. He’s already off to a good start, averaging 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 1.5 blocks and two three-pointers per game. He’s also seen his usage rate skyrocket from 13.5% last year to 21.6% this season.

Wesley Matthews, DAL vs. CHI
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $5,000

Another veteran who plays a significant role for the Mavericks is Matthews. He’s averaged 35 minutes across their first two games and has logged at least 34 minutes per contest in each of his previous three seasons with the team. His numbers aren’t off the charts, but he’s averaged at least 12.5 points per game in each of those seasons in large part because he’s also contributed at least 2.4 three-pointers per contest. The Bulls have allowed an average of 112.5 points across their first two games.

SMALL FORWARDS

Trevor Ariza, PHO at GS

The Suns have a lot of talented young players on their team and added Ariza over the summer to provide some veteran leadership. His first game with the team couldn’t have gone much better, posting 21 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and five three-pointers against the Mavericks. However, he came crashing back down to Earth with five points and three rebounds in their subsequent game against the Nuggets. The good news is he played at least 29 minutes in both contests and should have a significant role moving forward. With all the small lineups the Warriors like to deploy, look for Ariza to be heavily involved Monday.

Jae Crowder, UTA vs. MEM
FanDuel = $5,200
DraftKings = $4,700

Crowder showed a lot of promise during his tenure with the Celtics, but his brief stint with the Cavaliers in the first half of last season was a train wreck. He played much better after being dealt to the Jazz, averaging 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 1.8 three-pointers per contest. The Jazz have given him a significant role off the bench this year, as well, helping him post 15 points, six rebounds, one steal and two three-pointers per game. They have also played at the fifth-fastest pace (110.7 possessions per game) in the early going, making Crowder a viable option for your entry.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleeper Lineup Picks for 10/22/18

Serge Ibaka, TOR vs. CHA
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $5,300

With the league trending towards smaller lineups, you could see the writing on the wall when it came to playing time for Jonas Valanciunas. He averaged a career-low 22 minutes per game last year and has only logged 18 minutes per contest through the first three games this season. Ibaka has been the Raptors preferred option up front when they do go small, helping him average 29 minutes a game. While he’s not putting up the gaudy block numbers like he did during his tenure with the Thunder, Ibaka has still been excellent this year with 15.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, one steal and 1.7 blocks per game. The Hornets like to play small, so look for Ibaka to see plenty of minutes Monday.

Dwight Powell, DAL vs. CHI
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $5,100

The Mavericks desperately needed to add talent at center and they did just that by bringing in DeAndre Jordan. They still don’t have a ton of talent up front, though, and are missing Dirk Nowitzki as he recovers from an ankle injury. Powell has been extremely involved as a member of their second unit with a 29.1% usage rate. That’s not going to hold up, but he’s going to get added opportunities to produce until Nowitzki returns. Based on how poorly the Bulls have played on the defensive end, Powell could be in line to extend his hot start.

CENTERS

Myles Turner, IND at MIN

DraftKings = $6,000

Turner was a trendy pick for a breakout campaign last year, but he didn’t show much improvement. In fact, his 47.9% field goal percentage was the lowest mark of his young career. He’s had an inconsistent start this year, but that could be partly because the Pacers haven’t had a game yet that was decided by fewer than 17 points. Karl-Anthony Towns isn’t a great defender and Turner has the ability to contribute plenty of blocks, leaving him with upside Monday.

JaVale McGee, LAL vs. SA
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $4,900

McGee has done a great job for the Lakers. They like to use a lot of small lineups, but McGee has averaged 21 minutes a game as their starting center. After being relegated to an extremely limited role with the Warriors, McGee has cashed in his added playing time this year for 14.5 points, seven rebounds and four blocks per contest. Even though Rondo won’t play, McGee still has LeBron James and Lonzo Ball to create scoring opportunities for him. If he keeps playing like this, he won’t be this cheap for much longer.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/28/18

Trey Burke, NY at PHI

The Knicks tried Emmanuel Mudiay as their starting point guard, but his struggles with Denver followed him to New York. It’s now Burke’s turn to see what he can do and the early returns have been promising. He scored 19 points in his first start Sunday, then dominated with 42 points, 12 assists, and three three-pointers Tuesday against the Hornets. The game went into overtime, but those are still lofty totals. He attempted 31 shots in that game and should continue to get plenty of scoring opportunities moving forward. The Sixers also play at the fifth-fastest pace (101.7 possessions per game) in the league, leaving Burke with value even with his climbing price tag.

Shabazz Napier, POR at MEM

DraftKings = $3,800

Damian Lillard will be out Wednesday due to the birth of his child, which should allow Napier to start at point guard. Napier excelled when filling in for Lillard previously, averaging 16.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.9 three-pointers in eight games. The news that Lillard would be sidelined came after last night’s game against the Pelicans, which was already too late for Napier’s price to be increased in DFS. Make sure to take advantage and get him into your lineup.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/28/18

Wayne Selden Jr., MEM vs. POR
FanDuel = $4,400
DratfKings = $4,100

The Grizzlies are one of the more prominent tanking teams, sitting several players due to injuries and for rest down the stretch. Wednesday will be no different with Tyreke Evans (personal) already ruled out. Selden has seen a significant increase in scoring as a result, averaging 16.3 points and 2.5 three-pointers in his last six games. He doesn’t provide much outside of offense, but he still has enough upside in that department to warrant considering for your entry Wednesday.

Troy Daniels, PHO vs. LAC
FanDuel = $4,100
DraftKings = $4,400

The Suns could be without their two best scorers Wednesday with T.J. Warren (knee) and Devin Booker (hand) still dealing with injuries. Daniels has helped shoulder the load with both players out, scoring at least 18 points in three of his last four games. He attempted a total of 36 three-pointers in his last three contests, so he has the potential to put up plenty of points. Both the Suns and the Clippers are in the top six in the league in pace of play, giving Daniels an excellent opportunity to provide value for your entry if Warren and Booker can’t play.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/28/18

Mario Hezonja, ORL vs. BKN
FanDuel = $5,600
DraftKings = $5,300

Speaking of teams who will be shorthanded Wednesday, the Magic will be without Evan Fournier (knee), Jonathon Simmons (wrist) and Jonathan Isaac (foot). All three players sat out the Magic’s last game against the Suns on Saturday as well, resulting in Hezonja scoring 14 points to go along with eight rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks in 39 minutes. He gets to play another team who struggles defensively in the Nets on Wednesday, giving him upside based on his likely expanded role.

Evan Turner, POR at MEM
FanDuel = $3,600
DraftKings = $3,600

Not only will the Trail Blazers be without Lillard on Wednesday, but Maurice Harkless (knee) will also be sidelined.  Harkless did not play Tuesday against the Pelicans either, leaving Turner to play 36 minutes. In the 20 games that Turner has logged at least 30 minutes this season, he is averaging 11.8 points, four rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals. He doesn’t cost much, possibly making him worth the risk in tournament play.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/28/18

Al-Farouq Aminu, POR at MEM
FanDuel = $6,500
DraftKings = $6,100

Aminu is coming on strong down the stretch for the Trail Blazers, averaging 12 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2.3 steals and 2.9 three-pointers in his last seven games. While he only has a 14.6% usage rate this season, he could get a few more shot attempts with Lillard out Wednesday. Even with his limited offensive upside, he provides enough on the boards and defensively to make him a viable option for your entry.

Larry Nance Jr., CLE at CHA
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $5,000

Kevin Love left Tuesday’s game against the Heat in the first half and did not return after being evaluated for a concussion. Nance only scored four points in that game but managed to grab 10 rebounds and block one shot in just 18 minutes. If Love is deemed to have a concussion, don’t expect him to be on the floor Wednesday. As a result, Nance could see a significant role against a Hornets team that plays at the eighth-fastest pace (100.6 possessions per game) in the league.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/28/18

Nerlens Noel, DAL at LAL
FanDuel = $5,900
DraftKings = $4,700

Noel was rested Tuesday in the first game of the Mavericks back-to-back set, which is something the team has usually done since his return from injury. Expect him to return to the lineup Wednesday with Salah Mejri possibly getting the night off. Noel doesn’t score much, but he has averaged eight rebounds, 3.7 steals and two blocks in his last three games. Keep an eye on his status leading up to tipoff as he can provide value at this reasonable price.

Boban Marjanovic, LAC at PHO
FanDuel = $3,700
DraftKings = $3,200

If you are playing in a tournament, you have to take risks. Marjanovic certainly falls into that category. He hasn’t played much lately, logging 19 total minutes in his last three games. However, the Clippers will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back set Wednesday against a terrible Suns team that could be without their two best players. The Suns also allow the fifth-most points per game on both FanDuel and DraftKings to opposing centers. With per-36 minutes averages of 24.2 points, 13.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks this season, Marjanovic could pay off in a big way if he gets added minutes in a blowout.

Point Guard

Ricky Rubio, vs. Mavericks (FD: $7,400, DK: $7,100)
Projected Points: FD: 33.66, DK: 34.15

The Jazz are currently battling over the eighth playoff spot in the West versus the Nuggets and Clippers. This leaves Rubio to leave it all on the court night after night, which he continues to prove to do so. Averaging an insanely impressive plus/minus of +21.3 over the last 617 minutes, he has turned into the superstar of his team.


Dennis Schroder, vs. Kings (FD: $6,200, DK: $6,500)
Projected Points: FD: 35.61, DK: 37.03

Schroder didn’t get the memo that the Hawks are out of contention for a playoff spot. Tuesday night, in an unlikely win over the Jazz he managed a career-high 41 points. Thursday night he’ll go up against a mediocre Sacramento defense that is currently giving up 22.4 points per game and 8.27 assists to point guards, two categories that Schroder has been excelling in lately.

Shooting Guard

James Harden, vs. Pistons (FD: $11,600, DK: $11,600)
Projected Points: FD: 53.49, DK: 55.01

In USA Today, Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said it quite well when he stated, “That’s the best offensive player I’ve ever seen. They were running guys to him, and he just steps a little further back and hits a three. You know, the way he can pass and see the floor, get fouls, layups, floaters, maybe a lob, maybe out to the corner, he has so many weapons, and now he’s shooting those stepback threes, it’s impossible to guard him. It’s impossible.” Look for him to put on another show at home tonight versus the Pistons.


Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, vs. Pelicans (FD: $5,500, DK: $6,200)
Projected Points: FD: 32.6, DK: 32.72

The Lakers rank first in pace of play, while the Pelicans check in at third, making this Thursday’s fastest-paced matchup. It’s entirely possible that if you blink, you might miss a possession. Caldwell-Pope will receive plenty of opportunities at the shooting guard position, as the Pelicans are on the second game of a back-to-back. I like him best for FanDuel cash games, as his salary there seems perfectly priced. You should see him hit his expected floor of around 32 points.

 

Small Forward

Joe Ingles, vs. Mavericks (FD: $6,600, DK: $6,400)
Projected Points: FD: 27.01, DK: 28.16

If you’re looking for a hot hand on one of the hottest teams in the NBA, look no further than Ingles. The Jazz, having won 9 out of their last 10, are on a heater at the right time of the season. Each member of the team is stepping up like never before. The price is most certainly right for Ingles, as in his last 10 games he has averaged 14.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Don’t be surprised when you look up on the stat sheet and find him having a 6x-6.5x value game against the Mavs Thursday night.


E’Twaun Moore, vs. Lakers (FD: $4,500, DK: $4,300)
Projected Points: FD: 21.16, DK: 21.64

Even though I’ve already given you a relatively inexpensive option for small forward, I have one more, Moore. In what promises to be the fastest-paced game of the night, Moore will have more than ample opportunities to shoot the ball, which is perfect timing as he appears to be at the beginning of a heater. The Lakers are giving up 30.2 fantasy points to small forward starters, and it shows as last time out versus the Lakers, he scored 29.5 DraftKings/FanDuel points.

 

Power Forward

Anthony Davis, vs. Lakers (FD: $12,500, DK: $11,700)
Projected Points: FD: 61.82, DK: 61.33

In the middle of the Pelicans’ charge to the playoffs, no team has proved itself capable of stopping Davis. As a result, the Pelicans are leaning hard on him towards the end of the season. In his last ten games, he has managed to average a double-double grabbing 11.3 rebounds and 28.3 points per game. If you can afford the hefty price tag, there is undoubtedly an opportunity for him to go off against the Lakers. In their last two meetings against each other this season he has 71.25 DK points and 72.7 FanDuel points.


Aaron Gordon, vs. 76ers (FD: $7,500, DK: $7,300) 
Projected Points: FD: 34.84, DK: 35.01

With Coach Frank Vogel giving Gordon 34 minutes of playing time in Tuesday nights game, you can rest assured Gordon is back and ready to play some ball. Historically, he has done quite well versus the 76ers this season, averaging 18 points, eight rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game. If you can’t afford the sizable salary of Anthony Davis in your lineup, you can pivot toward Gordon. Being the hero of what is left of the Magic, he is unlikely to let you down.

 

Center

Rudy Gobert, vs. Mavericks (FD: $9,500, DK: $8,300)
Projected Points: FD: 39.81, DK: 39.72

With a price of only $8,300 on Draftkings, I don’t see why you shouldn’t lock Gobert in all of your DK lineups for Thursday night. Gobert has been an unstoppable force as no player has been better than him value-wise for March. He has managed to rack up 18.9 points, 13.9 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and has been getting the minutes, averaging 36.1 per game. The FanDuel price seems right, but take advantage of the low salary play on DraftKings while you have the chance.

 

Dewayne Dedmon, vs. Kings (FD: $5,300, DK: $5,600)
Projected Points: FD: 29.58, DK: 29.37

Dedmon has been on the receiving end of some extra minutes in place of John Collins, who has been dealing with an ankle injury. Tuesday night he went off, most impressively against one of the top defenses in the league, managing to hit 15 points, 15 rebounds, two steals, four assists and a block in 29 minutes of action on the court. He could easily crush value tonight on both websites, as last time out versus the Kings he scored 55 FanDuel points and 56 DraftKings points in only 24 minutes of play. Just imagine what he will accomplish with those few extra precious minutes.

POINT GUARDS

Isaiah Thomas, LAL at NO

DraftKings = $5,700

Thomas has had a couple of quiet offensive performances, scoring a total of 16 points in his last two games. He was a combined 0-for-7 from behind the arc, so it was mostly a matter of him being cold from the field. Before that, he had scored at least 20 points in three straight contests. Thursday brings a great matchup against a Pelicans team that plays at the third-fastest pace (102.4 possessions per game) and allows the second-most points per game (110.8) in the league, so look for Thomas to have a better offensive showing.

J.J. Barea, DAL vs. UTA
FanDuel = $5,600
DraftKings = $5,500

This is not a good matchup on the surface against a tough Jazz defense. However, the Mavericks will be without Wesley Matthews (leg) and Dennis Smith Jr. (ankle) on Thursday, which is going to leave Barea with a significant role. He logged 29 minutes with both players out Tuesday, finishing with 10 points, four rebounds, and eight assists. Barea has also played well against the Jazz in two previous games this season, averaging 17 points, 2.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and two three-pointers. There aren’t a lot of great cheap options at point guard, so Barea might be worth the risk.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/22/18

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, LAL at NO
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $6,200

Like Thomas, Caldwell-Pope is in a bit of an offensive slump, shooting just 5-for-16 (31.3%) in his last two games. He’s been able to contribute in other areas though, recording a combined 16 rebounds, five assists and two steals in those contests. He’s played at least 36 minutes in nine of his last ten games, so the heavy playing time helps to give him a high floor. Considering the Pelicans struggles on defense, Caldwell-Pope is another Lakers guard that is a viable option for your entry.

Luke Kennard, DET at HOU
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $4,000

Kennard has provided an offensive spark of late, scoring at least 10 points in five of his last six games. He played at least 24 minutes in all five of those games, each of which ended in lopsided scores. The Pistons have struggled down the stretch and the Rockets are rolling, so this game could get out of hand early as well. Kennard can provide value with added playing time, so he might be worth taking a chance on at this cheap price Thursday.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/22/18

E’Twaun Moore, NO vs. LAL
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,300

Moore had one of his best offensive performances of the season Wednesday, scoring 23 and hitting three three-pointers against the Pacers. He might not be one of the focal points of the Pelicans’ offense, but he has still managed to score at least 10 points in seven straight games. He gets a lot of time on the floor as well, logging at least 32 minutes in five of his last six games. Not only do the Pelicans play at a fast pace, but the Lakers play at the fastest pace (103.1) in the league. With added scoring possibilities possibly on tap Thursday, Moore is a nice value play once again.

Stanley Johnson, DET at HOU
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,200

Johnson is not a steady scorer, providing nine points or fewer in six of his eight games in March. However, he’s back in the starting lineup now, averaging nine points, five rebounds, and 2.7 steals in his last three games. He’s also been heavily involved in the offense but shot just 10-for-31 (32.3%) during that three-game stretch. If he can get a few more shots to fall Thursday, he could provide significant value when you combine that with his defensive abilities.

POWER FORWARDS

Nikola Mirotic, NO vs. LAL
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $5,500

March has not been a good month for Mirotic as he is shooting just 38.9% from the field in 11 games. His usage rate was 21.9% during that stretch, so he’s still been heavily involved in the offense despite his struggles. He can score points in a hurry when he’s hot though, giving him upside considering his role in the offense. This has the makings of a high scoring game with how fast both of these teams play, making Mirotic a viable option for your entry.

Cheick Diallo, NO vs. LAL
FanDuel = $3,900
DraftKings = $3,800

Diallo has been a valuable contributor off the bench for the Pelicans, averaging 12 points and 10 rebounds in his last three games. Averaging only 10 minutes per game this season, Diallo played at least 20 minutes in all three of those contests. The Pelicans are playing their third game in three nights Thursday, so expect Diallo and the rest of their bench to see added minutes as they try not to burn out their starters. He could end up being one of the better value plays for the evening at any position.

CENTERS

Even with the Hawks playing for nothing but a high pick in the draft, Dedmon has still logged at least 27 minutes in six of his last seven games. John Collins (ankle) is scheduled to miss his second straight game, freeing up even more minutes in the Hawks frontcourt. The Kings allow the second-most FanDuel points per game and the fifth-most DraftKings points per game to opposing centers, giving Dedmon some upside Thursday.

The Hawks struggle to defend power forwards as well, allowing the seventh-most FanDuel points per game and the third-most DraftKings points per game to the position. If you want to go really cheap at center, Muscala is someone to consider.

He played well in his last game against the Lakers, scoring 10 points to go along with nine assists and one steal in just 24 minutes. The Lakers play at the fastest pace (103.1 possessions per game) in the league, which leaves Barea with an added ability to be productive even in limited playing time.  He also has a high ceiling if he can approach 30 minutes, making him someone to consider for your entry.

Andrew Harrison, MEM vs. CLE

Harrison played well while the Grizzlies were resting Tyreke Evans as they attempted to trade him, possibly earning himself a bigger role even though Evans has now returned. Harrison played 33 minutes in the Grizzlies’ last game against the Thunder, scoring 28 points and hitting five three-pointers. Evans was excellent in that game as well, which is a good sign for Harrison moving forward. Wayne Seldon Jr. (knee) has already been ruled out Friday and Mario Chalmers (ankle) is listed as questionable, so Harrison should get enough playing time to provide value at this cheap price.

Batum is clearly one of the secondary offensive options on the Hornets behind Kemba Walker and Dwight Howard. He doesn’t need to score a ton to provide value though because of his ability to contribute across the board. Thursday’s game against the Nets was a prime example as he only scored 10 points, but chipped in five rebounds, seven assists, one steal, one block and two three-pointers. Don’t be afraid to take a chance on him again Friday.

J.R. Smith, CLE at MEM

DraftKings = $4,600

The Cavaliers drastically changed their roster at the trade deadline, but Smith has played at least 29 minutes in all three games since the new players arrived. He’s made a case to continue to have a significant role on the team, averaging 16.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.0 steal and 3.0 three-pointers during that stretch. Although his minutes may eventually decline as the new players get acclimated to the team, Smith’s value in the short term should still hold. At this price, he might be worth the risk if you want to save money at shooting guard.

Bogdanovic is having his best month of the season, averaging 18.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.0 steal and 2.8 three-pointers in six games. He also has a 20.1% usage rate in February, higher than any other month this season. Friday brings a great matchup against the Hawks, who allow the most points per game on FanDuel and the second-most points per game on DraftKings to opposing small forwards. His upside isn’t extremely high since he doesn’t provide much outside of scoring, but he can still provide value Friday.

Kelly Oubre Jr., WAS vs. CHA

DraftKings = $4,500

Oubre is not a consistent offensive player, scoring seven points or less in three of his last eight games. He is still one of the Wizards primary weapons off the bench though and has grabbed at least five rebounds in four of his last six games. He has upside when his shot is falling, evident by his performance Thursday against the Cavaliers when he scored 17 points and hit three three-pointers. If Oubre was consistent offensively, he wouldn’t be priced this low. Based on the significant amount of playing time he receives off the bench and his potential ceiling, he is a viable option to consider.

The Celtics were quiet at the trade deadline with the only move they made being the signing of Greg Monroe after he was bought out by the Suns. They still don’t have a lot of great offensive weapons outside of Kyrie Irving, leaving Morris as one of their better scorers. His usage rate of 22.6% isn’t overly impressive, but it is second highest on the team. Morris is averaging 12.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.8 three-pointers in five February games and could provide value again Friday.

Jae Crowder, UTA vs. POR

Crowder’s brief tenure with the Cavaliers was a disaster, so things could only go up from there. He’s showed early signs that the change of scenery has been beneficial, averaging 14.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steal and 2.0 three-pointers in three games with the Jazz. He averaged 29 minutes during that stretch as well, which is almost four minutes more than he was averaging in Cleveland. Expect him to have an increased role moving forward, which makes him someone to consider at this cheap price.

Friday brings a favorable matchup against the Pacers, who allow the third most points per game on both FanDuel and DraftKings to opposing centers. As long as he sticks in the starting lineup, he’s a viable option for your entry.

Alex Len, PHO vs. LAC

Len hasn’t always received consistent playing time this season but could be in line for an expanded role Friday with Tyson Chandler (neck) doubtful to play. Chandler didn’t play in the team’s last game before the break against the Jazz either, which resulted in Len logging 38 minutes. Len took full advantage of the opportunity, scoring 14 points to go along with seven rebounds, five blocks, and three steals. The Suns are going to need his size to battle with DeAndre Jordan in this game, giving Len the potential to provide significant value.

It’s important to know the intricacies of the NBA schedule to gain an advantage over your opponent in a head-to-head fantasy league as starting your best players might not always give you the best chance to win. Here are some moves you might want to consider for your team based on the week ahead.

Teams With The Most Games – 2 Games Each
Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz

The NBA All-Star break comes this week, meaning no team will play more than two games. However, with 22 teams each playing two games, you might not need a lot of help this week filling out your roster. If you do, consider adding the players below who are still available in the majority of leagues.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 18

Dewayne Dedmon, Atlanta Hawks

Since returning from injury, Dedmon has mostly come off the bench for the Hawks. However, they decided to change things up Sunday and started Dedmon against the Pistons. He played 31 minutes as a result, finishing with 20 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and one block. The Hawks won the game and coach Mike Budenholzer said afterward that they would probably stick with the same starting lineup moving forward. That’s good news for Dedmon, especially since one of his two games this week comes against a Bucks team that struggles to defend centers and the other comes against the Pistons again. He’s still available in 62% of Yahoo! leagues and could give you a boost at center this week.

D.J. Augustin, Orlando Magic

The Magic traded Elfrid Payton to the Suns, opening up the starting point guard role for Augustin. He played 35 minutes in the Magic’s first game without Payton, scoring 18 points to go along with nine assists, two steals, and two three-pointers. However, he played just 23 minutes Saturday against the Bucks as Shelvin Mack had the hot hand, logging 28 minutes and posting a double-double. Augustin should continue to start going forward and will likely play closer to 30 minutes on a nightly basis. He gets to face two bad teams in the Bulls and Hornets this week, leaving him with upside. If you need help at point guard, he is still available in 69% of Yahoo! leagues.

Emmanuel Mudiay, New York Knicks

Mudiay thrived in his debut with the Knicks on Sunday, scoring 14 points to go along with 10 assists in 29 minutes. The Knicks are going nowhere with Kristaps Porzingis (knee) out for the season and have stated they want to give their young players an extended look moving forward. Starting point guard Jarrett Jack played only eight minutes Sunday and might not play much down the stretch. Mudiay is still available in 81% of Yahoo! leagues and is worth considering if you need help this week.

Teams With The Fewest Games – 1 Game Each
Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers, Washington Wizards

Eight teams play only one game each this week, leaving their players with limited upside. As a result, consider benching the players below who you might otherwise have in your starting lineup.

Jusuf Nurkic, Portland Trail Blazers

Nurkic left Sunday’s game against the Jazz and did not return due to lower back soreness and pain in his right hip. With only one game this week, it’s possible the Trail Blazers sit him so he gets extended rest over the break. Even if he does play, it’s not a good matchup against a Warriors team that likes to use a lot of small lineups. It’s not worth the risk starting him this week based on his limited potential.

Harrison Barnes, Dallas Mavericks

Barnes has been one of the best offensive players on the Mavericks this season, averaging 18.3 points and 1.4 three-pointers per game. The problem is, he provides very little production in terms of assists, steals and blocks and his 6.6 rebounds per game isn’t a difference maker either. Since he usually doesn’t provide much outside of scoring, it might not be a bad idea to sit him this week if you need help in other categories.

Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics

Tatum has been excellent for the Celtics this year, but his game doesn’t always translate to great fantasy production. He hasn’t excelled in any one area, averaging 13.6 points, 5.1 rebounds. 1.4 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.8 blocks and 1.3 three-pointers per game. Those types of numbers can be valuable on a week where he has extra games, but with only one game this week, the best decision might be to place him on your bench.

VanVleet has been given more playing time lately, logging at least 20 minutes in each of his last five games. He gets a great matchup against a depleted Knicks squad Thursday that allows the sixth-most points per game on FanDuel and the seventh-most points per game on DraftKings to opposing point guards. At this price, he might be worth the risk.

Hart has started each of the last three games for the Lakers, logging at least 31 minutes in each contest. He hasn’t let the Lakers down, averaging 14.7 points, 12.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.7 three-pointers per contest. The Lakers won each game, so look for him to stick in the starting lineup with Lonzo Ball (knee) still sidelined. He just scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against the Thunder on Sunday and should be someone to consider again in their rematch.

Wesley Matthews, DAL at GS

Matthews is not a great offensive player, but he still has value because he plays a lot on a Mavericks team thin on talent. He only has a 17.5% usage rate, but he’s averaging 34 minutes per game. He has also played well in three games against the Warriors this season, averaging 16.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steal and 3.7 three-pointers per contest. The price is right to take a chance on him again Thursday.

His priced already jumped up significantly, but it’s still low enough to make him worth consideration for your entry.

The Magic will be without Aaron Gordon (hip) again on Thursday, marking the sixth straight game he will miss. Hezonja has played at least 25 minutes in each of the first five games that Gordon was sidelined, averaging 15.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 3.2 three-pointers per contest. The Magic play at the seventh-fastest pace (101) in the league and get to face a bad Hawks team Thursday, leaving Hezonja with upside.

Powell has started each of the last three games for the Mavericks, averaging 10.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in those three contests. The added playing time gives him a big boost in value, especially Thursday considering the pace at which the Warriors play. At this price, he’s worth taking a chance on in tournament play.

Jerami Grant, OKC at LAL

The Thunder have one of the thinnest benches in the league, leaving Grant as one of the best members of their second unit. He’s currently having one of his best stretches of the season, averaging 12.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in his last six games. Thursday brings a favorable matchup against the Lakers, who play at the fastest pace (103) and allow the fifth-most points per game (109.7) in the league. Both Russell Westbrook (ankle) and Carmelo Anthony (ankle) are listed as questionable as well, so the Thunder might really need to lean on Grant if either of them can’t play. Even if they both do take the floor, Grant is still a viable option for your entry.

His price isn’t that cheap, but it’s still reasonable enough to give him value Thursday.

The Knicks are clearly sellers heading into Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, so you’ll have to keep an eye on O’Quinn’s status throughout the day as he could be dealt. If he isn’t traded though, he is going to be in line for significant playing time Thursday with Porzingis and Enes Kanter (mouth) out and Willy Hernangomez traded to the Hornets. He has played at least 20 minutes in a game 15 times this season, averaging 10.7 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 blocks per contest. He could end up being one of the better value plays of the night if he’s still on the Knicks.

He played at least 29 minutes in all five of those contests and should continue to see extended playing time moving forward with Avery Bradley now on the Clippers. He’s not going to provide a lot defensively and isn’t a great passer, but could provide a big boost to your team in three-pointers with four games this week. He is still available in 75% of Yahoo! leagues.

Tomas Satoransky, Washington Wizards

Satoransky is coming off of his best game of the season Saturday against the Magic when he scored 19 points to go along with three rebounds, six assists, two steals and three three-pointers. While he is now starting in place of John Wall (knee), that’s about the best line you can expect from Satoransky. He’s not a great offensive player, but he has dished out at least six assists and three of his last four games and has at least two steals in three straight contests. He’s still available in 76% of Yahoo! leagues and could be a valuable addition if you need help at point guard this week.

Yogi Ferrell, Dallas Mavericks

Ferrell is not starting for the Mavericks, but he has played at least 30 minutes in 10 of the last 13 games. He’s taken advantage of the added minutes, averaging 13.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.4 three-pointers in those 10 contests. Not only does he get to play four games this week, but he has excellent matchups against the Clippers, Warriors, Lakers, and Rockets. All four of those teams are in the top-nine in the league in pace of play. Ferrell is still available in 87% of Yahoo! leagues and could be a difference maker this week.

San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs are the only team with just two games this week, leaving their players with considerably less value than normal. As a result, consider benching the below.

Pau Gasol, San Antonio Spurs

Gasol’s numbers are already down this season with his 10.8 points per game being the lowest average of his career. He’s still maintained fantasy value though by averaging 8.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 block per game. He hasn’t been much help from the field though, shooting just 46.9%. That is well below his career average of 50.9%. Since he doesn’t excel in any one category, this might be the week to put Gasol on your bench.

Dejounte Murray, San Antonio Spurs

Murray has taken over for Tony Parker, starting each of the last eight games for the Spurs. He’s provided valuable supporting stats, averaging 8.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.4 steals in those eight games. However, he’s not a great scorer, averaging just 9.8 points over that same stretch. He is not a good three-point shooter either, which limits his overall upside. In a week with only two games, he might do more harm than good in your lineup. Put him on the bench.

At this cheap price, he could be worth taking a chance on in tournament play.

The Mavericks don’t have a lot of talent on their roster, which has left Matthews to average 34 minutes per game this season. He’s been productive of late, averaging 18.6 points, 3.4 points, 2.8 assists, 1.4 steals and 3.8 three-pointers over his last five games. One of those games came against these same Trail Blazers when he scored 23 points in 38 minutes. The price is right to take a chance on him again in their rematch.

The Bulls have slowly increased LaVine’s minutes since he returned from a knee injury, topping out at 24 minutes in each of the last two games. He could play 26-28 minutes Friday, which is significant news considering the Lakers play at the fastest pace (103.2) in the league. Ingram played well against them in their first meeting earlier this season as well, finishing with 17 points, five rebounds, five assists, one steal and two blocks. The injury bug has bitten the Grizzlies, who will be without JaMychal Green (ankle), Chandler Parsons (knee) and James Ennis III (calf) on Friday. To make matters worse, Jarrell Martin (knee, ankle) is also listed as questionable. The Grizzlies just need healthy bodies at this point, so Brooks should see plenty of playing time. Brooks has logged at least 27 minutes in each of his last six games, posting averages of 14.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 2.0 three-pointers per contest. He could provide significant upside at this dirt cheap price.

POWER FORWARDS

Kyle Kuzma, LAL at CHI

Kuzma can explode offensively in any game, which is exactly what he did scoring 28 points in 27 minutes Tuesday against a strong defensive team in the Celtics. He hit five three-pointers in that game and has made 15 three-pointers over his last five contests. The Bulls like to play small and have a lot of bigs who play around the perimeter, which is a perfect fit for Kuzma’s style of play. If Kuzma catches fire again in this game, he could significantly outproduce his price point.

Dirk Nowitzki, DAL vs. POR

DraftKings = $4,500

Nowitzki is only averaging 25 minutes per game this year and is a shell of his former self offensively, scoring less than 10 points in four of his last five games. The Mavericks have been using him at center this season, but he’s only averaging 5.5 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per contest. There is hope for playing him Friday though as he played very well against these same Trail Blazers on Saturday, scoring 21 points on 8-of-12 from the field. He can score in a hurry like that still if his shot is falling and he won’t cost much, so he could be a sneaky tournament option to consider.

CENTERS

Enes Kanter, NY at PHO

Kanter went through a stretch where he was only seeing limited playing time, but he has logged at least 26 minutes in eight of his last nine games. He scored at least 15 points and grabbed at least seven rebounds in six of those eight games, continuing his recent success from earlier this season. The Suns have a lot of size and depth at center, so Kanter should see enough minutes again Friday to be worth considering for your entry.

Greg Monroe, PHO vs. NY

DraftKings = $5,700

The Suns’ center rotation can be an extreme source of frustration, with really no consistency of who plays when. Monroe has managed to play both of the last two games, averaging 17.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per contest. Alex Len (ankle) did not play in the team’s last game Wednesday and is listed as questionable for Friday, so Monroe could get significant playing time again if he Len can’t play. Keep an eye on Len’s status throughout the day and get Monroe in your lineup if he does get ruled out.

Murray has started the last two games for the Spurs and should start in place of Tony Parker going forward. The move has paid off well so far with Murray averaging 13.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 5.0 steals in those two contests. He’s not going to provide traditional point guard numbers in terms of assists and he’s not a good three-point shooter, but he makes up for it with his ability to rebound and rack up steals. His price is going to climb quickly if he keeps up this pace, but he’s still a great option at this cheap price Wednesday.

Yogi Ferrell, DAL vs. HOU

Ferrell has seen increased playing time of late, logging at least 31 minutes in five of his last six games. He cashed in the added minutes by averaging 15.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.6 three-pointers in those five contests. He should see plenty of playing time again Wednesday against a Rockets team that likes to use a lot of small lineups. Considering the Rockets also play at the eighth-fastest pace (101.2 possessions per game) in the league, Ferrell is a strong candidate to provide value.

SHOOTING GUARDS

Jeremy Lamb, CHA vs. NO

Lamb did a great job filling in for Nicolas Batum when he was injured to start the season but moved back to the bench once he returned. While his usage rate as a starter and a reserve are almost identical, he’s averaging seven fewer minutes per game when he comes off the bench. That doesn’t mean he still can’t provide value at this price though, evident by the fact that he is averaging 12.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 three-pointers in his last nine games. Not only does Wednesday’s opponent in the Pelicans play at the sixth-fastest pace (101.5) in the league, but they also allow the second-most points per game (110.9). While his upside is limited based on his role off the bench, Lamb is still a viable option to consider for your entry.

Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, PHI vs. CHI

Luwawu-Cabarrot has been moved into the starting lineup with J.J. Redick (leg) and Jerryd Bayless (wrist) both injured. Redick will be out again Wednesday while Bayless is listed as questionable. Not only that, but T.J. McConnell (personal) has already been ruled out as well. If Bayless ultimately does not play, Luwawu-Cabarrot is going to be in for all the minutes he can handle. He averaged 18.0 points. 2.0 assists and 4.5 three-pointers while starting the last two games, so keep an eye on Bayless’ status throughout the day. If he is also ruled out, Luwawu-Cabbarrot could provide significant value.

SMALL FORWARDS

As the Spurs continue to deal with injuries to Kawhi Leonard (quad), Rudy Gay (heel) and Manu Ginobili (thigh), it has resulted in Anderson playing at least 30 minutes in three straight games. He is usually productive when given added playing time, averaging 9.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.0 block in 14 games this season where he has played at least 30 minutes. He may not be flashy, but that’s valuable production at this reasonable price.

Nemanja Bjelica, MIN at POR

DraftKings = $4,300

The key here is the status of Jimmy Butler (knee), who is listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game. Bjelica has started the last two games with Butler out, averaging 13.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.0 three-pointers per contest. He played at least 26 minutes in both games, which is no surprise considering how much playing time coach Tom Thibodeau gives all of his starting players. If Butler is ruled out for this game, Bjelica is an excellent value play.

POWER FORWARDS

Saric had some big games when Joel Embiid was out earlier this season, but he’s still valuable even with Embiid on the floor. Embiid hasn’t missed a game in January, but Saric has still managed to average 14.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.7 three-pointers per contest during that stretch. The Sixers play at the second-fastest pace (102.8) in the league, which helps Saric gain added value. Wednesday brings a favorable matchup against the Bulls who also like to play fast and use a lot of small lineups, making Saric someone to consider using for your entry.

Jarrell Martin, MEM vs. SA

The Grizzlies are going to be lacking depth up front Wednesday with JaMychal Green (ankle) and Chandler Parsons (knee) already ruled out. Martin is not certain to play either as he is listed as questionable with a knee injury. If he is able to play, he could get a lot of minutes. He’s played at least 31 minutes in three of the last four games, averaging 13.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.7 three-pointers per contest. Keep an eye on his status leading up to tipoff.

CENTERS

Jonas Valanciunas, TOR at ATL

Valanciunas can sure take you on a rollercoaster ride in DFS. Take a look at his last four games in DraftKings for example. In those four games, he has scored 14.8, 43.5, 31.3 and 4.8 DraftKings points, respectively. It’s no coincidence that he played at least 27 minutes in both games that he performed well and 14 minutes or fewer in the two games that were flops. Consistent playing time has been an issue for him all season, so he’s usually only someone you want to take a chance on in tournament play. That being said, the Hawks do allow the fourth-most points on both FanDuel and DraftKings to opposing centers, so we might see the good side of Valanciunas on Wednesday.

Robin Lopez, CHI at PHI

DraftKings = $4,500

Talk about two tough games for Lopez. He had to battle DeMarcus Cousins on Monday and now he follows that up with a game against Joel Embiid. The good news is, that likely means plenty of playing time again Wednesday as the Bulls really don’t have anyone else who can match up with Embiid’s size. In 13 games that Lopez has played between 30 and 39 minutes this year, he is averaging 15.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per contest. If you want to go really cheap at center in a tournament, Lopez might be worth considering.
