The last week of the NFL regular season is here. Every team plays Sunday, so there are a ton of options to choose from in DFS. Here are some quarterbacks and running back who stand out as potential difference makers. QUARTERBACKS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 17 - QB & RB

Patrick Mahomes vs. Oakland Raiders
Stadium – Arrowhead Stadium

The Chiefs have lost back-to-back games, so they still need to win Sunday to clinch the AFC West and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. That’s great news for DFS purposes since it keeps one of the most potent offenses in the league in play. Despite their recent struggles as a team, Mahomes still has at least two touchdown passes in 10 straight games, boosting his total to 48 for the season. This is a stellar matchup for him against the Raiders, who have allowed the most touchdown passes (34) in the league. The first time these two teams met, Mahomes threw for 295 yards and four touchdowns.

Ben Roethlisberger vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Stadium – Heinz Field

With four losses across their last five games, the Steelers find themselves needing to win this game against the Bengals and get a little help to make it into the playoffs. Luckily their part at least sets up well for them to succeed, getting to play at home against the injury-riddled Bengals. Roethlisberger’s home and road splits haven’t been as drastic this season, but he has 18 touchdown passes over seven home games compared to 15 scores across eight games on the road. Not only is the Bengals’ offensive limping heading into their contest, but their defense is tied for the second-most touchdown passes allowed (31) and has allowed the third-most passing yards per game (276).

Josh Allen vs. Miami Dolphins
Stadium – New Era Field

The Patriots did a good job bottling up Allen on the ground in Week 16, holding him to 30 yards on five carries. Allen again provided inconsistent production through the air, completing 20 of 41 passes for 217 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Week 17 brings a much easier matchup for him at home against the Dolphins. When these two teams faced off in Week 13, Allen turned nine carries into 135 yards. He also posted his only multi-passing touchdown performance of the year in that game, so he’s at least someone to consider in tournament play.

Derek Carr vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Stadium – Arrowhead Stadium

DraftKings = $5,100

It’s been a lost season for the Raiders, but they’ve actually won two of their last three games down the stretch. Even though they won last week against the Broncos, Carr was held in check, finishing with just 167 passing yards. It should be noted, though, that he only needed to attempt 26 passes with the Raiders jumping out to a big lead early. Prior to that quiet performance, Carr had totaled six touchdown passes and no interceptions across his previous three games. In fact, Carr hasn’t thrown a pick since Week 5. The Chiefs continue to have a swiss-cheese-like secondary, which leaves Carr with significant upside. He certainly had plenty of success against them in Week 13, throwing for 285 yards and three touchdowns.

RUNNING BACKS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 17 - QB & RB

Damien Williams vs. Oakland Raiders
Stadium – Arrowhead Stadium

DraftKings = $6,100

Spencer Ware (hamstring) was unable to take the field again last week, setting up Williams to lead the Chief’s backfield. He logged 73 percent of their offensive snaps, finishing with 103 rushing yards on 13 carries. He also caught all seven of his targets for 37 yards and a touchdown. The Chiefs do need to win this game as previously discussed, but it shouldn’t exactly be an overwhelming task against the far inferior Raiders. They might not rush Ware back into action, so if he sits, Williams again has significant upside. It’s definitely a favorable matchup with the Raiders allowing the third-most rushing yards per game (143.3).

Chris Carson vs. Arizona Cardinals
Stadium – CenturyLink Field

DraftKings = $6,500

The Seahawks have already clinched a wildcard spot, so they don’t really have anything left to play for. That makes rolling with their offensive players a bit of a risky proposition, especially considering the potential blowout factor against a horrid Cardinals squad. Carson does come into this game extremely hot, rushing for 325 yards and four touchdowns across his last three games. Despite not being on the field for more than 59 percent of the Seahawks’ offensive snaps during any of those games, Carson still received at least 22 carries in each contest. The Cardinals allow by far the most rushing yards per game (153.1), so adding Carson to your entry might be a risk worth taking.

Elijah McGuire vs. New England Patriots
Stadium – Gillette Stadium

DraftKings = $5,300

With Isaiah Crowell (toe) out for the season, McGuire is the main man in the Jets’ backfield. He hasn’t been efficient in his two starts, turning 32 carries into just 77 yards. However, he has scored a rushing touchdown in both contests and even chipped in a receiving score last week against the Packers. The Jets also like to use him in the passing game, giving him nine targets over that two-game stretch. Don’t expect his efficiency to improve drastically against the Patriots, but he should get enough volume to once again be a viable option.

C.J. Anderson vs. San Francisco 49ers
Stadium – Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
FanDuel = $6,200
DraftKings = $5,400

The Rams decided to hold out Todd Gurley (knee) in Week 16, which opened up a starting role for Anderson. He just joined the team a couple of weeks ago, but that didn’t stop him from turning 20 carries into 167 yards and a touchdown. The Rams are still looking to clinch a first-round bye, but this shouldn’t be an overly challenging game playing at home against the 49ers. If Gurley isn’t completely healthy, it makes little sense to play him. If he does play, it also makes little sense to give him a ton of work. Anderson isn’t all that cheap anymore, but he could still provide value Sunday.

Doug Martin vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Stadium – Arrowhead Stadium

The Raiders have pretty evenly split snaps in their backfield between Martin and Jalen Richard since Marshawn Lynch (groin) was lost for the season. Martin had his best performance last week against the Broncos, carrying the ball 21 times for 107 yards and a touchdown. While his yardage totals haven’t always been great, he has found his way into the end zone in four of his last five games. The Chiefs allow the fifth-most rushing yards per game (132.5), leaving Martin with some appeal in tournament play based on his cheap price.

After examining some quarterbacks and running backs to target for Week 16, let’s now highlight some wide receivers, tight ends and defenses/special teams that have favorable matchups. WIDE RECEIVERS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 16 - WR, TE, DEF/ST

DeAndre Hopkins vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Stadium – Lincoln Financial Field

Hopkins couldn’t have played any better last week against the Jets. He caught 10 of his 11 targets, marking his third game this season with 10 receptions. Not only did he finish with a season-high 170 yards, but he also scored two touchdowns. With 11 touchdowns for the season to go along with 94 receptions, Hopkins has one of the highest floors among wide receivers in DFS. Week 16 brings another opportunity for him to shine against a banged up Eagles secondary that has allowed the second-most passing yards per game (281) in the league.

Amari Cooper vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Stadium – AT&T Stadium

DraftKings = $7,500

There has been a lot made about how the addition of Cooper has improved the Cowboys’ offense, but he’s still struggled to be consistent. In his six games with the Raiders, he had four games with 17 receiving yards or fewer, but he had at least 116 yards in both of the other two contests. Across seven games with the Cowboys, he’s posted 58 yards or fewer three times. However, he finished with at least 180 yards and two touchdowns twice. He’s coming off of a dud last week against the Colts, but it should be noted that contest was on the road. Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott has much better numbers playing at home, so don’t be surprised if Cooper excels in this matchup against a Bucs defense that has allowed 30 passing touchdowns.

Robby Anderson vs. Green Bay Packers
Stadium – MetLife Stadium

Anderson had a breakout campaign last year, but the change to Sam Darnold at quarterback has dealt a significant blow to his numbers. Over his first nine games this season, Anderson finished with 44 receiving yards or fewer eight times. The duo appears to finally be on the same page now, leaving Anderson to record 172 yards and two touchdowns over his last two games. Anderson received a season-high 11 targets with Quincy Enunwa (ankle) out last week and could again be extremely busy with Enunwa’s status very much in doubt for Week 16.

John Ross vs. Cleveland Browns
Stadium – FirstEnergy Stadium

DraftKings = $3,800

The Bengals probably can’t wait for this season to be over. Injuries have completely derailed their offense, the latest of which was suffered by wide receiver Tyler Boyd (knee) last week. He has an MCL sprain and hasn’t practiced yet this week, so it seems highly unlikely that he’s going to play. If he doesn’t suit up, Ross is in line to be their top receiving threat. He’s battling his own ankle issue, but he has been a limited participant in practice so far, which is encouraging. The Browns allow the third-most passing yards per game (275), making Ross a viable cheap option in tournament play.

TIGHT ENDS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 16 - WR, TE, DEF/ST

Zach Ertz vs. Houston Texans
Stadium – Lincoln Financial Field

Nick Foles might be one of the better backup quarterbacks in the league, but Ertz hasn’t topped 48 receiving yards in any of the three games that Foles has started this year. He had only three receptions last week against the Rams, but he did at least receive seven targets. His upside might not be as high as it was when Carson Wentz (back) was at the helm, but the Texans have allowed 889 yards and seven touchdowns to opposing tight ends. His price is still high on FanDuel, but it’s decreased significantly on DraftKings, making him a potential bargain at his position.

David Njoku vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Stadium – FirstEnergy Stadium
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $3,800

Njoku has been on the field for at least 81 percent of the Browns’ offensive snaps in each of the last three games and has 15 targets to show for it. He didn’t do much with those targets, though, recording nine receptions for 73 yards. It’s hard to get too excited about him based on those stats, but the Bengals have allowed 839 yards and eight touchdowns to tight ends. The last time these two teams met, Njoku finished with five receptions, 63 yards, and a touchdown. If you want to take the cheap route at tight end in tournament play, Njoku is a viable option,

C.J. Uzomah vs. Cleveland Browns
Stadium – FirstEnergy Stadium

DraftKings = $3,300

Uzomah had a favorable matchup last week against a Raiders team that has been mauled by tight ends, but he only caught one of his five targets for 27 yards. If you’re looking for a silver lining, at least Uzomah has received at least five targets in four of his last five contests. With the Bengals running out of healthy wide receivers, they may be forced to throw the ball more his way. The Browns have also struggled against tight ends, allowing 862 yards and six touchdowns to the position. In their last meeting, Uzomah caught six of 12 targets for 39 yards.

DEFENSES/SPECIAL TEAMS

Los Angeles Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals
Stadium – State Farm Stadium

Yes, the Rams gave up 30 points last week to the Eagles with Foles at quarterback. However, they are still a great option against the Cardinals. Josh Rosen has been awful of late, totaling 521 passing yards, three interceptions and no touchdowns across his last three games. He’s also been sacked 11 times during that stretch, so expect the Rams defense to wreak havoc Sunday.

Miami Dolphins vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Stadium – Hard Rock Stadium
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $2,700

This season turned into a disaster for the Jaguars. They neglected to address the quarterback position over the summer, leaving Blake Bortles to retain his starting role. He played so poorly that they have actually turned to Cody Kessler as their starter. While it’s hard to imagine, they’ve been even worse with him leading the way, scoring just one offensive touchdown across his three starts. The Dolphins defense is nothing special, but this matchup is almost too good to pass up.

With a bizarre Week 15 now in our rearview mirror, we only have two weeks left of full slates in the NFL. There is no Thursday game during Week 16, but there are two matchups on Saturday. Let’s dive into the main Sunday slate in DFS and highlight some quarterbacks and runnings backs to consider for your entry. QUARTERBACKS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 16 - QB & RB

Deshaun Watson vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Stadium – Lincoln Financial Field

The Texans got back in the win column last week against the Jets, boosting their record to 10-4. Watson had another strong performance, throwing for 294 yards and two touchdowns. He also chipped in 26 rushing yards on four carries. Watson is currently on an impressive streak in which he has completed at least 71 percent of his passes and has not thrown an interception in four straight contests. The Eagles secondary has been decimated by injuries to the point where they have now allowed the second-most passing yards per game (281) in the league for the season, overall. With running back Lamar Miller battling an ankle injury, the Texans could rely even more on Watson, giving him tremendous upside for this matchup.

Baker Mayfield vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Stadium – FirstEnergy Stadium
FanDuel = $7,700
DraftKings = $6,100

Mayfield didn’t play all that well against the Broncos in Week 15, completing just 58.1 percent of his passes for 188 yards. He did somewhat salvage his line with two touchdowns, although he did also throw an interception. Despite his underwhelming performance, he’s one of the top DFS options at quarterback this week. The Bengals defense is a mess and has allowed the fourth-most passing yards per game (271) to go along with 28 touchdown passes. The last time these two teams met in Week 12, Mayfield threw for 258 yards and four touchdowns.

Josh Allen vs. New England Patriots

The Bills don’t have a lot of offensive weapons, but things were really bad last week against the Lions with running backs LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and Chris Ivory (shoulder) inactive. To make matters worse, third-string back Marcus Murphy had to leave the game with an elbow injury. That left the Lions defense to key in on Allen, who completed just 50 percent of his passes for 204 yards. More importantly, they held him to 16 yards on nine carries. Luckily, Allen still finished with a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown, helping him to have another productive performance. Playing on the road against the Patriots isn’t a great matchup, but Allen has been able to provide enough value with his legs to still be worth considering in tournament play.

Dak Prescott vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Stadium – AT&T Stadium

DraftKings = $5,700

The Cowboys entered Week 15 with five straight wins and had the look of a team who was going to pull away from the rest of their division. However, not only did they lose to the Colts, but they were shut out, 23-0. Prescott couldn’t get much going, completing 24 of 39 passes for 206 yards and an interception. He’s been a bit inconsistent of late, but he showed his upside against the Eagles two weeks ago when he threw for 455 yards and three touchdowns. The addition of wide receiver Amari Cooper has been huge for Prescott’s production, so look for him to bounce back quickly from his debacle against the Colts. This is certainly a prime opportunity for him to do so against the Bucs, who are tied for the second-most touchdown passes allowed (30) in the league.

RUNNING BACKS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 16 - QB & RB

Christian McCaffrey vs. Atlanta Falcons
Stadium – Bank of America Stadium

Panther’s quarterback Cam Newton is struggling with a shoulder issue right now and looked terrible on Monday night against the Saints. He clearly couldn’t throw the ball well down the field, averaging just 4.5 yards per passing attempt. His inability to throw deep was a positive for McCaffrey, though, who was targeted 11 times. He finished with eight catches for 67 yards to go along with 15 carries for an additional 53 yards. That marked his seventh straight game with at least 100 total yards and with his touchdown pass Monday, McCaffrey now has at least one score in four straight contests. Newton’s shoulder likely won’t be any better this week, so expect McCaffrey to get all the work that he can handle.

Ezekiel Elliott vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Stadium – AT&T Stadium

DraftKings = $9,000

Even though the Cowboys couldn’t find their way into the end zone against the Colts, Elliott still finished with 128 total yards. He caught seven of his eight targets and has now received at least six targets in six straight games, giving him a significant boost in his overall production. The Bucs are not only allowing the sixth-most rushing yards per game (128.1), but they’ve also allowed a league-high 106 receptions to running backs, leaving Elliott with a tremendously high upside.

Nick Chubb vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Stadium – FirstEnergy Stadium
FanDuel = $7,900
DraftKings = $7,300

Chubb failed to catch a pass Sunday for the first time since Week 7, but he was successful on the ground with 20 carries for 100 yards. Yes, 40 of those yards came on one play, but the 20 carries is the key to his value. He now has at least 20 rushing attempts in four of his last six games and could be in for another heavy workload in Week 16. The Bengals are decimated by injuries on offense, so they might have a hard time putting points on the board, which could lead to a lot of carries late for Chubb. The Bengals’ defense is allowing the fourth-most rushing yards per game (142.4), so don’t hesitate to add Chubb to your entry.

Marlon Mack vs. New York Giants
Stadium – Lucas Oil Stadium
FanDuel = $7,000
DraftKings = $5,500

Mack had 60 rushing yards across two games, combined, heading into Week 15, but he broke out of that drought with 139 yards and two touchdowns against the Cowboys. With their defense dominating, Mack received 27 rushing attempts as the Colts nursed their lead to the finish line. Week 16 brings a great opportunity for Mack to thrive considering the Giants just gave up 170 rushing yards and two touchdowns to Derrick Henry on Sunday. The trade of Damon Harrison to the Lions has left a significant hole in their rushing defense, so look for Mack to take advantage.

Elijah McGuire vs. Green Bay Packers
Stadium – MetLife Stadium

DraftKings = $4,700

The Jets had to place Isaiah Crowell (toe) on IR last week, which opened up the lead back role for McGuire. He wasn’t very effective in his first start, turning 18 carries into just 42 yards. He did find his way into the end zone, though, and he was on the field for 75 percent of the Jets’ offensive snaps. The Jets don’t have any other choice but to give McGuire a lot of snaps, leaving him as a very appealing tournament option based on his cheap price on both sites.

Zach Ertz and George Kittle are both playing in primetime games during Week 10, taking two of the top tight ends off the board in DFS. Let’s dive into the schedule and examine some players, and defenses/special teams, to target or avoid as you create your entry. CASH CONTEST OPTIONS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 10 - TE/DEF/ST

Travis Kelce vs. Arizona Cardinals
Stadium – Arrowhead Stadium

DraftKings = $7,000

The Chiefs scored 37 points against the Browns in Week 9, marking their fifth straight game with at least 30 points. To no surprise, Kelce again played an integral role in their success, catching seven of nine targets for 99 yards and two touchdowns. Kelce had gone a stretch of three consecutive games without a score, but he’s recorded three touchdowns across the last two weeks.

Even though the Chiefs have a ton of talent on offense, Kelce leads the team with 79 targets. His 14 red zone targets are also the most on the team, leaving him with plenty of opportunities to rack up fantasy points. The Cardinals defense has been tough against the pass, but that shouldn’t scare you away from playing Kelce. He’s the clear top option at tight end, so don’t hesitate to pay up for him in cash games.

O.J. Howard vs. Washington Redskins
Stadium – Raymond James Stadium

DraftKings = $5,300

The Bucs have had an unsettled quarterback situation this season, but whether Ryan Fitzpatrick of Jameis Winston has started, Howard has still had plenty of success. The Bucs suffered yet another loss in Week 9 against the Panthers, but they managed to score 28 points. Howard was a big part of their offensive production, hauling in four of six targets for 53 yards and two touchdowns. After a slow start in terms of touchdowns, Howard now has four scores across his last four contests.

Howard has certainly put to rest any concerns about fellow tight end Cameron Brate limiting his production. Outside of a Week 4 matchup against the Bears when Howard had to leave early due to an injury, Howard has been on the field for a higher percentage of snaps than Brate in every week. With the Bucs porous defense often putting their offense in situations where they have to throw a lot to keep up, Howard should remain a great option against the Redskins.

New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills
Stadium – MetLife Stadium

DraftKings = $3,400

One of the ugliest games in Week 9 had to be the bout between the Jets and Dolphins. Scoring was hard to come by on both sides, which was particularly impressive for the Jets defense considering their offense couldn’t move the ball at all, often putting them in a hole field position wise. They failed to force a turnover, but they did record four sacks, marking the fourth time they’ve posted at least four sacks in a game this season.

Week 10 brings the dream matchup against the Bills. If you’re looking for a good cash option in just about any week, check to see who is playing the Bills. The Bills aren’t sure who is going to start at quarterback in this game, but regardless of who it is, none of their options are all that appealing. They have very little talent on offense, anyway, setting up the Jets defense for possibly their best performance of the season. If Nathan Peterman is ultimately the one who draws the start, the sky is the limit for the Jets.

GPP TOURNAMENT OPTIONS

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 10 - TE/DEF/ST

David Njoku vs. Atlanta Falcons

After a disastrous Week 8 where he didn’t receive a single target against the Steelers, Njoku was due for a bounce-back performance. It wasn’t an eye-popping outing, but Njoku caught four of five targets for 53 yards in Week 9. That’s much more in line with his season averages since he had received at least six targets in all but one game before Week 8.

The Browns allowed 37 points to the Chiefs on Sunday, which forced them to throw a lot in an attempt to come back. The Falcons aren’t nearly as explosive as the Chiefs are, but they’ve scored at least 31 points in a game five times this year. The Browns should be forced to pass plenty in this contest, as well, potentially setting up Njoku for a productive day considering the Falcons have allowed 42 receptions for 434 yards and three touchdowns to opposing tight ends.

Jordan Reed vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Stadium – Raymond James Stadium

DraftKings = $4,400

The decision to move on from Kirk Cousins and bring in Alex Smith at quarterback hasn’t worked out very well in terms of passing production for the Redskins. Cousins had 27 touchdowns and averaged 255.8 passing yards per game last year, but Smith only has nine touchdowns through eight games and is averaging 233.4 passing yards per contest. Of course the year Reed is finally healthy, the Redskins bring in a less explosive passer.

Reed is currently dealing with a neck injury, but everything so far points to him playing against the Bucs. Although he hasn’t recorded more than 43 receiving yards in any of his last five games, Reed could be a sneaky option to consider for your entry. The Bucs defense has been terrible, in general, but they’ve really been hammered by opposing tight ends, allowing 618 yards and five touchdowns to the position.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Oakland Raiders
Stadium – Oakland Alameda County Coliseum

The Chargers had to travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks in Week 9, but their defense played well by holding them to 17 points. That marked the fourth straight game in which the Chargers have held their opponents to under 20 points. They also sacked Russell Wilson five times and have a total of 14 sacks during their recent run of success.

It’s hard to pass up on the Jets against the Bills, but if you decide to, the Chargers might be the next best option to consider. The Raiders offense hasn’t been great for the majority of the season and is even worse now after the traded Amari Cooper to the Cowboys and lost Marshawn Lynch to a groin injury. When these two teams met earlier this season, the Chargers had three sacks, an interception, and a fumble recovery while holding the Raiders to 10 points. Look for them to thrive again Sunday.

Ebron really stepped up for the Colts when they were decimated by injuries, specifically during an extended absence for Jack Doyle. Doyle was able to return to the field in Week 8 and ended up playing 73 percent of the Colts offensive plays. Ebron saw his usage plummet as he was only on the field for 22 percent of their plays. In the first two games that Dayle played this season, he was on the field for at least 94 percent of their plays in both contests. On the other hand, Ebron was never on the field more than 45 percent of the time. Now that Doyle is back, Ebron’s upside is severely limited.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Arizona Cardinals

Yes, the Cardinals offense has been a mess this year. However, the majority of their struggles came with offensive coordinator Mike McCoy at the helm. Even though the Cardinals didn’t look much better when they scored 18 points against the 49ers in Week 8, new offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich had the benefit of a bye in Week 9 to help install his offensive scheme. The Cardinals still have some weapons in David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald, so this isn’t a slamdunk matchup for the Chiefs defense to excel. Since they don’t come at much of a discount over the Jets or Chargers, it might be best to avoid the Chiefs.

Melvin Gordon vs. Seattle Seahawks

Gordon had his first 1000-yard rushing campaign last year, but his 3.9 yards-per-carry weren’t exactly great. He’s made a significant improvement in that area this season with 5.1 yards-per-carry through six games. The Chargers have relied on him more in the passing game, as well, resulting in Gordon catching 30 of 42 targets for 279 yards and three touchdowns.

Gordon sat out Week 7 with a hamstring injury, but he’s received the benefit of added rest after the Chargers were on a bye in Week 8. All signs are pointing to him playing Sunday, bringing back one of the top options in DFS. The Seahawks have been excellent defending against the pass, but their 4.5 yards-per-carry allowed is the 10th-highest mark in the league. If you want to shy away from using Gurley against the Saints, Gordon is a safe bet to consider in cash contests.

Kareem Hunt vs. Cleveland Browns

Hunt was limited to 50 rushing yards in Week 8 by the Broncos after recording at least 80 rushing yards in four straight games. He still had plenty of attempts with 16, but his 3.1 yards-per-carry was his third-lowest mark of the season. However, he also chipped in five catches on six targets for 36 yards and a touchdown.

With the Chiefs high-powered offense, Hunt has recorded at least one touchdown in every game since failing to find the end zone in Week 1. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him score again Sunday with the Browns tied for the most rushing touchdowns allowed (12). They’ve also allowed the fifth-most rushing yards per game (138.9), setting up Hunt with a very high floor.

Christian McCaffrey vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Panthers exploded for a season-high 36 points against the Ravens last week, which resulted in a very productive game from McCaffrey. His 56 total yards left a lot to be desired, but he scored two total touchdowns, one of which was his first rushing touchdown of the year. In fact, McCaffrey only had one receiving touchdown, as well, through his first six games.

Don’t be overly concerned with McCaffrey’s lack of yardage in Week 8, especially his paltry 11 receiving yards. He still had 14 carries and six targets, the kind of volume that is going to help him be productive more often than not. The Panthers are met with another favorable opportunity to score plenty of points in Week 9 against a Bucs team that has allowed 20 touchdowns through the air and eight on the ground. With McCaffrey as one of the focal points of their offense, this is a matchup to exploit.

Tarik Cohen vs. Buffalo Bills

It took a while for the Bears offense to get going, but they’ve been excellent of late. They are coming off of a 24-10 win over the Jets in Week 8, a game in which Cohen had a 70-yard receiving touchdown. It was his only catch of the game on three targets, although he did have five carries for an additional 40 yards. Cohen has benefited greatly from the improved play of the Bears offense, scoring a touchdown in four straight games.

Another encouraging stat for Cohen that came out of Week 8 is that he was on the field for 58 percent of the Bears offense plays, the exact same amount as Jordan Howard. It marked the first time this season that Howard didn’t have a higher percentage than Cohen. Howard could get plenty of carries if the Bears get up big against a bad Bills team, but Cohen’s big-play ability makes him someone worth targeting in tournament play.

Nick Chubb vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Stadium – FirstEnergy Stadium

In his second week as the Browns featured back, Chubb finished with 65 yards on 18 carries. He also caught his first two passes of the season, although only for a total of 10 yards. The Browns were down big to the Steelers, which might be why Chubb was only on the field for 48 percent of the Browns offensive plays after being on the field for 66 percent of their plays in Week 7.

While it was concerning that somehow Dontrell Hilliard played 23 percent of the Browns snaps last week, all that goes out the window for Week 9 with the Browns having fired their head coach and offensive coordinator Monday. Duke Johnson has largely been underutilized this year, so it will be interesting to see if they get him more touches Sunday. Even with the uncertainty surrounding their offensive scheme moving forward, Chubb is going to get the majority of their carries. The Browns might be able to move the ball well against the Chiefs leaky defense, leaving Chubb with touchdown upside, as well.

Lamar Miller vs. Denver Broncos

There was certainly concern surrounding Miller heading into Week 7 against the Jaguars with him rushing for 49 yards or fewer in three straight games. He even had on horrid performance against the Giants where he gained 10 yards on 10 carries. However, he broke out of his slump against the Jaguars, accumulating 100 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. If that wasn’t impressive enough, he followed that up with 133 yards and another touchdown Week 8 against the Dolphins.

With Alfred Blue as his only real competition for carries, Miller is the most talented player in the Texans backfield. He’s set up with another great matchup Sunday with the Broncos allowing the sixth-most rushing yards per game (135.8). The game flow could lean in Miller’s favor, as well, with the Broncos having dealt away wide receiver Demaryius Thomas at the trade deadline. They’ve already scored 23 points or fewer in six of eight games, so his loss likely won’t improve their odds of being more productive. If the Texans get up big, we could see a heavy dose of Miller in the second half.

Isaiah Crowell vs. Miami Dolphins
Stadium – Hard Rock Stadium

On the surface, Crowell’s stats look pretty good. He’s averaging a career-high 5.1 yards-per-carry and has already found his way into the end zone six total times. The problem is that most of his damage done on the ground came in two games. Although he had 102 rushing yards in Week 1 and 219 rushing yards in Week 5, he’s had 40 rushing yards or fewer in each of his other six contests. Week 8 was another struggle against the Bears, gaining 25 yards on 13 carries.

It should be noted that his two big performances came against the Lions and Broncos, two of the worst rushing defenses in the league. He’ll face another bad one in the Dolphins in Week 9, who have allowed the third-most rushing yards per game (143.1). The Dolphins also don’t have a great offense, which is good news for Crowell since a close contest would likely result in a better game script for Crowell. He’s certainly risky, but he might be worth taking a chance on at this cheap price.

The return of Ingram in Week 5 struck fear in the hearts of everyone who rosters Alvin Kamara in season-long fantasy after Ingram rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns on six carries. While Ingram does somewhat eat into Kamara’s upside, Ingram’s value in DFS is largely touchdown dependent. He hasn’t found his way into the end zone in either of the last two games and has to face a Rams defense in Week 9 that has only allowed five rushing touchdowns this season. His price isn’t all that unreasonable on DraftKings, but he’s definitely someone to avoid on FanDuel.

Tevin Coleman vs. Washington Redskins

Coleman only has 21 carries for 85 yards over his last two games. Ito Smith has cut into his opportunities with Coleman only on the field for 57 percent of the Falcons offensive snaps in those two contests. The Falcons don’t throw the ball to Coleman a lot, either, with him receiving three targets or fewer in all but one game this year. The Redskins have allowed the second-fewest rushing yards per game (80.1) and have allowed just six rushing touchdowns, making Coleman too much of a risk based on his limited upside.

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 8 - Running Backs

Todd Gurley vs. Green Bay Packers

Gurley is as automatic as they come. His performance in Week 7 was a prime example of just how high his floor is. He didn’t rack up a ton of yards on the ground with 15 carries for 63 yards. His receiving yards weren’t stellar, either, catching four of five targets for 23 yards. However, he had two rushing touchdowns and one receiving score. With the Rams loaded on offense, Gurley has already been able to cash in with 14 total touchdowns.

The Rams destroyed the 49ers 39-10 last week, so it didn’t really make much sense to run Gurley into the ground during a blowout. This game figures to be more competitive against a Packers team that has far more firepower on offense. The Packers defense hasn’t been very good at stopping the run, leaving them tied for the 10th-highest yards-per-carry allowed (4.5) in the league. Gurley is crazy expensive, but he’s someone to build your lineup around in cash contests.

Kareem Hunt vs. Denver Broncos

Things were looking scary for Hunt over the first three games this season, rushing a total of 52 times for 168 yards, which equated to 3.2 yards-per-carry. He wasn’t really involved in the passing attack, either, with one reception and three total targets during that stretch. The good news is that his struggles were shortlived. After destroying the Bengals for 141 total yards and three touchdowns in Week 7, Hunt now has 595 total yards and six touchdowns across his last four contests.

The Chiefs have arguably the most explosive offense in the league, which is going to leave Hunt with plenty of opportunities to find the end zone. His nine total touchdowns this year puts him only three scores away from passing hit total from all of last season. This has the makings of another monster performance for Hunt since the Broncos have allowed the second-most rushing yards per game (148.1) to go along with eight rushing touchdowns allowed.

James Conner vs. Cleveland Browns
Stadium – Heinz Field

Conner comes into this game with fresh legs after the Steelers had a bye in Week 7. He was hot heading into the bye, rushing for 221 yards and four touchdowns across his previous two games. He also chipped in eight receptions for 93 yards. There were some rumors about Le’Veon Bell possibly reporting to the team during their bye week, but as of Wednesday, there was still no sign of his return. That should leave Conner as their starting running back for at least one more week.

This will mark Conner’s second start of the year against the Browns. He demolished them in Week 1, rushing 31 times for 135 yards and two touchdowns while also catching five of six targets for an additional 57 yards. While those numbers might be hard to duplicate, the Browns have allowed the fifth-most rushing yards per game (134.7) and the second-most rushing touchdowns (10). Don’t hesitate to add Conner to your entry.

Kerryon Johnson vs. Seattle Seahawks

Johnson’s usage has been frustrating. In three of the first four games, he received nine or fewer carries. The only time he had more was in Week 3 when he cashed in 16 rushing attempts for 101 yards. The Lions have finally started to lean on him a little more over their last two games, resulting in Johnson finishing with at least 12 carries and 70 yards in both contests. It will be hard for them to justify lessening his workload Sunday considering he posted 158 yards on 19 carries last week against the Dolphins.

Another downside when it comes to Johnson is that he’s not very involved in the passing game, receiving more than three targets in only one game so far. He also has to deal with LeGarrette Blount stealing some of the goalline work. The Seahawks defense has been very good against the pass, but they’ve allowed the ninth-most rushing yards per game (120.7). Johnson is certainly not a safe option, but this matchup leaves him with upside.

Marlon Mack vs. Oakland Raiders
Stadium – Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum

The Colts sure missed Mack at the beginning of this season. Injuries have limited him to just three games, but he’s healthy now and running away with the starting job in their backfield. He’s coming off of his best performance in what was a blowout win over the Bills in Week 7 when he had 126 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.

The Colts racing out to a big lead helped Mack in terms of the game flow last week. There is a chance this game could play out in a similar fashion with the Raiders losing two key parts of their offense in Amari Cooper and Marshawn Lynch. Nyheim Hines limits Mack’s involvement in the passing game, but with the Raiders allowing the sixth-most rushing yards per game (131.8), Mack is worth considering for your entry.

Phillip Lindsay vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Stadium – Arrowhead Stadium

DraftKings = $5,200

The Broncos offense hasn’t been good, but that didn’t stop them from hanging 45 points on the Cardinals last week. Lindsay didn’t blow the roof off in that game, but he had a strong performance by turning 14 carries into 90 yards and a touchdown. Although he has to split carries with Royce Freeman, Lindsay has still provided value in large part because he is averaging 5.8 yards-per-carry. Freeman, on the other hand, is averaging 4.4 yards-per-carry.

Freeman injured his ankle last week and his status is still up in the air for Sunday. If he is unable to play, Lindsay is likely to see a significant increase in volume. That could lead to a stellar stat line with the Chiefs allowing the third-most yards-per-carry (5.2). In their first meeting this season, Lindsay had 12 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown.

Raheem Mostert vs. Arizona Cardinals
Stadium – State Farm Stadium

The 49ers backfield looked so promising heading into this season after they signed Jerick McKinnon. However, he tore his ACL before playing in a regular season game, leaving Matt Breida and Alfred Morris to lead the position. Breida has played well, but he’s been battling injuries of late. Morris has been largely ineffective with just 3.6 yards-per-carry, which has opened up an opportunity for Mostert. He’s made the most of his chance, so far, with 146 yards on 19 carries across their last two games.

Breida re-aggravated his ankle injury in Week 7, resulting in him leaving the game early with just five carries. His status is still uncertain for Week 8, but it might be prudent for the 49ers to rest him since this is an injury he’s dealt with before. If Breida doesn’t play, Mostert could receive the bulk of the carries. At this cheap price, he’d make for an excellent play against a Cardinals team that has allowed the most rushing yards per game (148.3) and the most rushing touchdowns (12).

Collins looked primed for a big campaign this year after grabbing hold of the Ravens starting running back job last year. He didn’t take over as the regular starter until Week 6 last season, but he finished with an average of 4.6 yards-per-carry. While efficiency was his strong suit, the opposite has been the case for him this year with just 3.6 yards-per-carry. Javorius Allen is their preferred option when they get close to the end zone, which significantly limits Collins’ upside. This is not a great matchup with the Panthers allowing the ninth-fewest rushing yards per game (95) so it might be best to avoid Collins.

Isaiah Crowell vs. Chicago Bears

Crowell has had two big games this season. His first was in Week 1 when he turned 10 carries into 102 yards and two touchdowns. The other was a 15-carry, 219-yard, one touchdown performance in Week 5 against the Broncos. However, he has a total of 138 rushing yards over his other five games. The Bears have allowed the fourth-fewest rushing yards per game (87.5) and have still not given up a score on the ground, making Crowell way too risky of an option in Week 8.

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 8 - Quarterbacks

Patrick Mahomes vs. Denver Broncos

Mahomes kept things rolling Sunday night against the Bengals, throwing for 358 yards and four touchdowns. He even chipped in a season-high 45 rushing yards on four carries. If you want to be picky, he did throw an interception for the third straight game after not throwing a pick in any of his first four contests. It’s easy to overlook the turnovers, though, since he has already thrown at least three touchdowns in a game five times and at least 300 yards in all but one contest.

There is no quarterback with a higher floor than Mahomes. He has a ton of weapons around him, making it hard for defenses to figure out who to try and stop. Even his running back Kareem Hunt has four receiving touchdowns. The Broncos haven’t been horrible defending the pass, but Mahomes is still a top option in cash contests, especially with this game being at home.

Jared Goff vs. Green Bay Packers
Stadium – Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

Goff failed to throw a touchdown in a game for the first time this year in Week 6, but he rebounded with two scores Sunday. He’s thrown for 201 yards and 202 yards in his last two games, respectively, in large part because he attempted 28 passes or fewer in both contests. With Todd Gurley destroying opposing defenses on the ground, the Rams don’t always need to have Goff throw a lot.

One thing to note about both of Goff’s recent performances is that they came on the road. Goff has five touchdowns across four road games this year, but he has nine touchdowns over his three home contests. His last two games also came against two bad offenses in the Broncos and 49ers. The Rams might be forced to throw more to keep up with the Packers, making Goff a viable option to consider.

Andrew Luck vs. Oakland Raiders
Stadium – Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum

Luck had a bizarre performance in Week 7. The Colts got up big early against the horrid Bills, leaving Luck to record season lows in pass attempts (23) and yards (156). To put that into perspective, he had thrown the ball at least 40 times in five of his first six games. However, he was still extremely productive with four touchdowns, marking the third time in the last four weeks that he had exactly that many scores.

It wouldn’t be all that surprising to see Luck attempt fewer passes in this game, as well. Marlon Mack has breathed some life into their running game, and while the Raiders aren’t nearly as bad as the Bills, they aren’t great offensively, either. It’s hard to imagine them playing any better this week with Amari Cooper traded to the Cowboys and Marshawn Lynch on IR. Their defense has allowed 13 touchdown passes and recorded just four interceptions, leaving Luck with a matchup to exploit.

Andy Dalton vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Dalton and the Bengals laid an egg against the Chiefs on Sunday. Playing in Arrowhead Stadium is no easy task, but the Chiefs defense has been lit up this year. Dalton made them look excellent, completing only 15 of 29 passes for 148 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. After throwing at least two touchdowns in each of his first four games, he has four touchdowns across the last three games.

Dalton quickly gets a chance to redeem himself against a Bucs team that has allowed the most passing yards per game (328) and passing touchdowns (18) in the league. If that wasn’t bad enough, they’ve only picked off one pass. Some people might be down on Dalton after last week, but he’s still a great option in tournament play.

Jameis Winston vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Stadium – Paul Brown Stadium

DraftKings = $6,000

After posting 395 passing yards in his first start in Week 6, Winston followed that up with 365 yards in Week 7. However, he threw four touchdowns passes two weeks ago, but failed to record a touchdown through the air Sunday. He also threw two more interceptions. Luckily, he was still able to somewhat salvage his performance with 55 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.

The Bucs defense is so bad that their offense has to throw a lot to keep pace with the opposing team. They also don’t run the ball well, which has led to Winston attempting at least 42 passes in both of his starts. Turnovers will likely continue to be a problem, but this a matchup to exploit since the Bengals have allowed the third-most passing yards per game (301) and are tied for the fifth-most passing touchdowns (15) allowed.

Mitch Trubisky vs. New York Jets
Stadium – Soldier Field

DraftKings = $6,100

Trubisky is the quarterback of the future for the Bears, but he looked shaky with two touchdown passes and three interceptions across the first three games this year. He failed to throw for more than 220 yards in any of those contests, as well. Then, everything turned on a dime when he threw for 354 yards and six touchdown passes during a route of the Bucs in Week 4. He’s kept things rolling with 649 yards and five touchdowns across two games since.

Last year, Tribusky had four touchdowns and one interception at home compared to three touchdowns and six interceptions on the road. His favorable home splits have continued this season with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions at home compared to three touchdowns and two interceptions on the road. While he may not have as high of an upside as Dalton or Winston, Trubisky could still be extremely productive in this game.

The Lions offense is built around Stafford and their passing game, but he’s attempted 48 passes over his last two games, combined. He did still throw at least two touchdown passes in both games, but he failed to accumulate more than 217 yards in either contest. Those two games are more than likely just outlier performances, but even if he throws the ball more in Week 7, that doesn’t necessarily mean you want him in your lineup. The Seahawks have allowed the third-fewest passing yards per game (206) and have more interceptions (nine) than touchdown passes allowed (eight).

Sam Darnold vs. Chicago Bears

Darnold has played well at times, but he’s largely been inconsistent. He’s had four games with one or no touchdown passes and has thrown for fewer than 200 yards four times. Turnovers have been a problem for him, as well, with 10 interceptions to go along with his 10 touchdowns. The Bears defense has been porous the last couple of weeks, but if you want to go with a cheap option at quarterback in tournament play, Darnold is not your guy.

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 7 - Wide Receivers

Adam Thielen vs. New York Jets
Stadium – MetLife Stadium

There has been no slowing down Thielen. He’s posted at least 100 receiving yards in all six games and with four touchdowns, he’s already matched his mark from all of last season. His 81 total targets also lead the NFL, nine ahead of the player with the second most, Antonio Brown. Add in his league-leading 712 receiving yards and Thielen has not only been one of the most reliable receivers in DFS, but he’s also been one with an extremely high upside.

It’s pretty easy to make an argument for Thielen to be in your lineup every week. The Jets doesn’t exactly provide an imposing matchup after they allowed Andrew Luck to throw for 301 yards against them with T.Y. Hilton and Jack Doyle on the sidelines. Thielen will eat up a significant portion of your budget, but he’s been worth every penny through the first six weeks.

Robert Woods vs. San Francisco 49ers
Stadium – Levi’s Stadium

DraftKings = $7,000

While Todd Gurley was chewing up the Broncos defense on the ground last week, Woods was hurting them in the receiving game with seven catches on 10 targets for 109 yards. It marked the second time this season that Woods received at least 10 targets in a contest and the third time in the last four weeks where he posted at least 100 yards. The Rams offense has been more explosive, helping Woods average 87.3 yards per game compared to 65.1 last season.

If anyone was concerned that the addition of Brandin Cooks would have a negative impact on Woods’ production, those concerns can be put to bed. Woods could be even more involved Week 7 with Cooper Kupp out with a knee injury. The 49ers are tied for the eighth-most passing yards allowed per game (279) and have allowed 14 passing touchdowns compared to just one interception, potentially setting up Woods for a big game.

Brandin Cooks vs. San Francisco 49ers
Stadium – Levi’s Stadium

It’s hard to deem Cooks’ campaign with the Patriots last year as a disappointment, but his 57% catch rate was the lowest mark of his career. He had a chance to shine as their top wide receiver, especially with Tom Brady throwing passes his way. The Rams have more talent at wide receiver, but their depth hasn’t slowed down Woods, who is averaging career-highs in yards per reception (18) and receiving yards per game (84.2).

Even though Woods is going to get plenty of targets, the absence of Kupp is going to benefit Cooks, as well. With how porous the 49ers secondary has been this season, both of the Rams’ top two receivers are strong plays this week. If you are looking for any sort of a differentiator between the two, Woods has three touchdowns compared to just one for Cooks. Regardless, both players warrant cash contest consideration.

Michael Crabtree vs. New Orleans Saints
Stadium – M&T Bank Stadium

Crabtree was a huge addition for a Ravens team that severely lacked talent at wide receiver last year. He might be in the later stages of his career, but he entered 2018 with at least eight receiving touchdowns in each of the last three seasons. The Ravens have wasted no time making him an important part of their offense, giving him a team-high 55 targets. He’s coming off of his best game with the team, catching six of nine targets for 96 yards and a touchdown against the Titans.

Crabtree might not have the big-play ability that fellow receiver John Brown does, but he’s tied with tight end Nick Boyle for the most red zone targets (six) on the team. This could be one of the Ravens more productive offensive performances of the season since the Saints have allowed the third-most passing yards per game (298), making Crabtree an excellent option to target.

Jarvis Landry vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Stadium – Raymond James Stadium

DraftKings = $7,300

The change at quarterback from Tyrod Taylor to Baker Mayfield hasn’t helped Landry’s value in the early going. Across the first three games of the season, Landry caught 20 of 37 targets for 278 yards. In three games since, he’s only hauled in 11 of 29 targets for 115 yards. The low point came in Week 6 because even though he received nine targets, he only had two receptions for 11 yards.

If there was ever a game for Landry and Mayfield to get on the same page, this is it. Mayfield is battling an ankle injury, but he’s expected to take the field. The Bucs have allowed the most passing yards per game (356) and are tied for the most passing touchdowns allowed (16) despite already having their bye week. Landry’s recent inconsistencies make him more of a tournament play than a cash play, but he does have a path to significant production Sunday.

Taylor Gabriel vs. New England Patriots
Stadium – Soldier Field

DraftKings = $4,700

Gabriel’s career with the Bears started off with a whimper, recording 89 total receiving yards through the first three weeks. However, he was one of the main beneficiaries of the Bears 48-point explosion in Week 4, catching all seven of his targets for 104 yards and two touchdowns. To put that performance into perspective, he had one touchdown all of last season with the Falcons. The good news is that he followed up that strong outing with another big game in Week 6, hauling in each of his five targets for 110 yards.

The Bears have a good defense, but it’s no easy task facing the Patriots when Brady has a full complement of weapons. They may give up more points than they are accustomed too, potentially forcing Mitch Trubisky to throw the ball more in an effort to keep pace. With Gabriel’s explosive speed, he has the potential to turn any reception into a significant gain. At this price, he’s hard to pass up based on his upside.

Jermaine Kearse vs. Minnesota Vikings
Stadium – MetLife Stadium
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $4,100

The Jets have what they hope to be their quarterback of the future in Sam Darnold. He’s had some expected highs and lows through the first six games, but it’s clear that he’s quickly developed a good relationship with receiver Quincy Enunwa, who received 37 targets across the Jets first four games. However, Enunwa hasn’t been healthy the last two weeks, opening the door for Kearse to catch nine of 10 targets for 94 yards in Week 6.

Enunwa has already been ruled out for Week 7 and the Jets could be even thinner at receiver with Terrelle Pryor dealing with a groin injury. If Pryor can’t play either, that’s going to leave Kearse and Robby Anderson with expanded roles. Even if Pryor does play, this is still a favorable matchup for Kearse to provide value. The Vikings have been stout against the run, but they’ve been susceptible to giving up yards through the air.

Michael Thomas vs. Baltimore Ravens

Thomas was a monster over his first three games, recording 38 receptions on 40 targets for 398 yards and three touchdowns. However, in the following two contests, he posted a combined eight catches on nine targets for 121 yards. This is not a great opportunity for him to put up a rebound performance since the Ravens are tied for the fewest passing yards allowed per game (188) in the league. If you want to pay up at wide receiver, go with Thielen over Thomas.

Cole Beasley vs. Washington Redskins
Stadium – FedEx Field

DraftKings = $3,900

The Cowboys have a tremendous running back in Ezekiel Elliott, but their lack of talent at wide receiver has led them to average the fourth-fewest passing yards per game (172). However, they had an unexpected 40-point performance against the Jaguars last week in which Beasley hauled in nine of 11 targets for 101 yards and two touchdowns. That was especially surprising since it came on the heels of a one-catch, eight-yard game in Week 5. He’s still cheap on DraftKings, but his price on FanDuel is outrageous.

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 4 - Running Backs

Alvin Kamara vs. New York Giants
Stadium – MetLife Stadium

Kamara is certainly not your traditional running back. He’s averaged 3.8 yards-per-carry through the first three weeks, totaling 141 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. His big impact comes in the passing attack as he already has 30 receptions on 38 targets for 289 yards and a touchdown. Not only has he received the most targets of any running back in football, but he has the fourth-most targets overall behind only Adam Thielen (44), Antonio Brown (42) and his teammate Michael Thomas (40).

This will be the last game of Mark Ingram’s suspension to start the season, so there is no question that Kamara will receive a heavy workload once again. With the number of passes he gets thrown his way, he has an extremely high floor. This is also a good matchup against a Giants defense that has allowed 165 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns to running backs through the first three weeks. Kamara won’t come cheap, but he should be worth it.

Ezekiel Elliott vs. Detroit Lions
Stadium – AT&T Stadium

DraftKings = $7,700

The Cowboys are severely lacking talent at wide receiver, squarely putting the offense on the shoulders of Elliott. Their offensive line isn’t as formidable as it has been in recent seasons, but Elliott is still averaging 5.7 yards-per-carry and has two rushing touchdowns this season. He hasn’t been able to rack up many receiving yards, but he has already received 18 targets after getting 38 targets over 10 games in 2017.

Although his touchdown upside is limited based on the Cowboys’ offensive struggles, this is a great matchup for Elliott. The Lions have been awful against the run, allowing a league-high 5.4 yards-per-carry. The Lions also have a high-powered offense, so the Cowboys would be wise to lean heavily on Elliott in attempt to eat up the clock and keep the ball out of Matthew Stafford’s hands.

Giovani Bernard vs. Atlanta Falcons
Stadium – Mercedes-Benz Stadium
FanDuel = $6,400
DraftKings = $6,300

Bernard filled the role of lead running back for the Bengals in Week 3 with Joe Mixon sidelined due to a knee injury. He came through with a well-rounded performance, rushing 12 times for 61 yards and a touchdown while catching five of nine targets for 25 yards. Wide receiver Tyler Boyd was the only other Bengal to receive a carry in this game and Bernard’s nine targets also lead the team.

Mixon is expected to be out again for Week 4, leaving Bernard with a great opportunity to provide value. The Falcons defense has been decimated by injuries and has already lost linebacker Deion Jones and safeties Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen. Over the last two weeks, they have allowed 29 receptions and 226 receiving yards to opposing running backs. Bernard isn’t overly expensive, either, making him a great player to build your lineup around.

NFL Daily Fantasy Football Recommendations for Week 4 - Running Backs

Lamar Miller vs. Indianapolis Colts
Stadium – Lucas Oil Stadium

DraftKings = $5,000

Miller found tough sledding against the Giants in Week 3, rushing 10 times for only 10 yards. He was still able to salvage his afternoon, though, by hauling in five of six targets for 41 yards and a touchdown. He was running well heading into that game, averaging 4.9 yards-per-carry against the Patriots and Titans over his first two contests. The Giants do have a great run-stuffer Damon Harrison in the middle of their defensive line, so it wasn’t exactly a great matchup for Miller on Sunday.

Things swing back in Miller’s favor this week against a Colts run defense that allowed 142 rushing yards last week to the combination of Corey Clement, Wendell Smallwood, and Josh Adams. They struggled against Mixon in Week 1, allowing him to rush for 95 yards on only 17 carries. Miller doesn’t have much competition for carries behind him, so he could be worth the risk at this reasonable price on both sites.

Chris Carson vs. Arizona Cardinals
Stadium – State Farm Stadium
FanDuel = $6,400
DraftKings = $4,600

The Seahawks have had a murky running back situation to start the year. Carson only totaled 13 carries over the first two games, but he averaged 5.8 yards-per-carry. They handed the reins over to him last week against the Cowboys and he cashed in with 102 yards and a touchdown on 32 attempts. Rashaad Penny, his main competition for carries, had only three attempts for five yards.

It can be tough to gauge head coach Pete Carroll, but Carson figures to be the lead back for Week 4 based on his performance Sunday. It also shouldn’t go unnoticed that they had success running the ball last week in what was the first game of the season for offensive guard D.J. Fluker, who is very good in the running game. The Cardinals have allowed 131.3 rushing yards per game and five rushing touchdowns so far this season, making Carson an intriguing option to consider.

Marshawn Lynch vs. Cleveland Browns
Stadium – Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum
FanDuel = $6,400
DraftKings = $4,800

Lynch hasn’t had any eye-opening performances yet this season, averaging 56.7 rushing yards per contest. He hasn’t provided much value in the passing game, either, catching six of seven targets for 33 yards. The one positive to latch on to is that he has scored a touchdown in each contest. He already has 10 rushing attempts inside the red zone, which is good for fourth in the league behind Todd Gurley, Alvin Kamara and Adrian Peterson.

The Browns do have an improving defense and have allowed just 3.7 yards-per-carry this season, but they have given up four scores on the ground. Although Derek Carr has already thrown five interceptions, he has been able to move the ball up and down the field by averaging 312 passing yards per game. He only has two touchdown passes, though, as the Raiders have shown they prefer to turn to Lynch when they have the ball in close. Lynch might be hard pressed to rush for 100 yards in this game, but he has a good chance of reaching the end zone.

Aaron Jones vs. Buffalo Bills
Stadium – Lambeau Field

DraftKings = $4,100

Jones made his season debut Week 3 after missing the first two games due to a suspension. The Packers didn’t have many rushing attempts since they got down big and had to play catch up, but Jones did lead the team in rushing attempts (six) and rushing yards (42). He showed promise in limited action last year, as well, averaging 5.5 yards-per-carry on 81 attempts. If you are looking for a downside with Jones, though, it’s that he’s clearly a secondary option catching passes out of the backfield behind Ty Montgomery.

The Bills came out of nowhere to put a hurting on the Vikings last week, but don’t expect similar results on the road at Lambeau Field. If the Packers race out to an early lead, they could be run-heavy down the stretch. The Bills have also allowed four rushing touchdowns this year, continuing a trend from last season where they couldn’t keep opposing running backs out of the end zone. Jones might see more carries in this contest, making him someone to at least consider at this cheap price in tournament play.

Isaiah Crowell vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Crowell got a bit of revenge against his former team in the Browns with two rushing touchdowns Thursday. He already has four touchdowns for the season after scoring just twice all of last season. The problem is he only averaged 2.5 yards-per-carry the last two weeks and gets a tough matchup against the vaunted Jaguars defense Sunday. I think his 102-yard performance in Week 1 is more of an outlier than anything else, so I’d stay away from using Crowell in this contest.

Peyton Barber vs. Chicago Bears
Stadium – Soldier Field
FanDuel = $6,000
DraftKings = $3,800

Barber has seen his carries decrease in each of the first three games, bottoming out at eight carries for 33 yards on Monday night. The Bucs gave him 16 carries in Week 2, but he came away with only 22 yards. Their offense is clearly built around their talented wide receiver trio of Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson and Chris Godwin, who have all been extremely productive with Ryan Fitzpatrick at the helm. Don’t expect them to rely too much on their rushing attack Sunday against a Bears team that has allowed an average of 3.4 yards-per-carry and has yet to allow a rushing touchdown.

Draftkings NFL Cash & GPP Lineup Daily Fantasy Football Week 14

Week 14 is not a pretty slate by any means. This week marks the fourth week in a row that we will be without the Steelers offense and will also be missing the Patriots, Saints, and Falcons. There’s a lot of value found at the running back position, so depending on what you do at that position, it will help you differentiate your lineup. Let’s dive into it.

Vegas

Since Vegas lines have become such a huge part of the DFS community and are where most DFS players start their research, I decided to write up a portion outlining the big Vegas numbers. All Vegas totals will be taken from Vegas Insider page on Wednesday.

As if Wednesday night there is no current game lines on the Lions at Bucs and Colts at Bills. Outside of that, this week doesn’t feature any game with a huge spread. The Chargers are the biggest favorite of the week (-6) but still are within a touchdown. The Cowboys (-4), Chiefs (-4), Packers (-3.5), Titans (-3), Texans (-3), Rams (-2.5), Jags (-2.5), Vikings (-2.5), and Jets (-1) are all very marginal favorites this week.

This week doesn’t feature a lot of teams with extremely high team totals. There are nine teams currently implied to score more than three touchdowns, headlined by the Chargers with a team total of 26 points. The Chiefs (25.75), Rams (25.25), Titans (23.5), Texans (23.5), Cowboys (22.75), Eagles (22.75), Bengals (22.25), and Packers (22) round out the teams implied to score more than 21 points.

In regards to game totals, there are three game totals over 45 points. The Eagles at the Rams lead the list with a 48 over/under, followed by KC @ OAK (47.5), and LAC @ WAS (46). Of these three games, the Eagles and Rams game has seen the largest total movement with a 3 point drop from the opening 51 game total.

Quarterbacks

Draftkings NFL Cash & GPP Lineup Daily Fantasy Football Week 14

Quarterbacks are very thin this week on the Draftkings main slate. We will be without Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, and Ben Roethlisberger. Yikes.

Alex Smith (DK $6,500) – I feel like I am chasing my tail after Smith’s 23.48 point performance last week. But I expect most people to flock to Smith due to recency bias and the favorable matchup he has this week against the Raiders. Smith is going up against a Raiders defense that ranks 25th in the league in aFPA. The Raiders are riding a two-game winning streak to put them back into contention for first place in the AFC West, but have faced pedestrian quarterbacks the last two weeks. They held both Geno Smith and Paxton Lynch in check. But before that, they were lit up by Brady (28.6 FP), Cutler (27.4), Taylor (16.7), and Alex Smith (28.68). A lot is riding on this game so Smith will look to snap the four-game losing streak and regain the lead in the West. One stat worth noting if you are playing Smith, with the field, Smith has failed to meet salary expectations 4 of the last six times he was priced at $6,000 range.

Russell Wilson (DK $6,200) – At $6,200 this is the lowest price we’ve seen Russell Wilson since November of 2016. That’s insane when you consider the fact that Wilson leads all quarterbacks in scoring after his bye week. Wilson has been smashing as of late, accumulating at least 24 points in 8 of his last 10 games. Now, this week he’s priced down severely because of his tough matchup on the road against the Jaguars. The Jags rank 1st in the league in aFPA this season and are even more dominant at home than on the road. The Jags have allowed an average of 11.61 Draftking points to opposing QBs at home. When you factor that defense dominance with Wilson’s home/road splits, it doesn’t look like an ideal situation for Wilson. It’s just tough for me to write off Wilson given his production the past 10 games and his dramatic price difference. Wilson is an ideal GPP play to hedge off the field.

Jimmy Garoppolo (DK $5,500) – The lower tier is where I will likely land on quarterbacks this week. Jimmy G got his first start last week and certainly passed the eye test. Although he didn’t throw a touchdown and only scored 11.52 DK points, he completed 70% of his passes and missed the 300-yard bonus by only 7 yards. Outside of that, he looked poised under Shanahan’s offense and was able to cut through the Bears defense with just half a playbook. Now Jimmy G finds himself as a road dog against the Texans who rank 30th in aFPA. The Texan’s defense has struggled this season once JJ Watt went down and this figures to be a close game. I think this game has sneaky shootout potential and like how Garoppolo’s savings round out my lineup.

Running Backs

Draftkings NFL Cash & GPP Lineup Daily Fantasy Football Week 14

Running back offers a lot of value and the top tier running backs are all in difficult spots.

LeSean McCoy (DK $7,200) – McCoy is the only running back of the top five priced backs that is expected to exceed his implied projected point based on salary. Unfortunately, as I write this, there is no line out for this game due to the Bills not naming their QB starter. But I expect to be a slight favorite at home, which benefits McCoy. McCoy has a seen his price drop to the low $7,000 for the first time since September of this season. He’s received 15 targets in the last four weeks and figures to see more check downs if Perriman is under center. The Colts rank 30th in aFPA to opposing running backs, which is why I boost McCoy slightly over Gurley for the price savings. McCoy is still a wait and see based on the Vegas line, but I like him in the higher tier.

Lamar Miller (DK $5,800) – I mentioned earlier that I like this game as a sneaky shootout. Lamar Miller is in theory in a good spot. He’s a 3 point home favorite and is going up against a 49er defense that ranks 31st in aFPA this season. I would note that Miller has only carried the ball more than 20 times once in his last six games and has yet to eclipse the 100-yard mark this season. The 49ers have only allowed 100-yard rushers to 3 running backs (Gurley, Elliott, and Peterson) this season, so their ranking may be a little misleading. I do like that Miller is averaging more at least 3 targets the last four games, but he hasn’t entirely been efficient with those opportunities. Miller is a decent cash gameplay if you need the salary relief from the top tier and want to differentiate from the value plays I’ll talk about next.

Giovani Bernard (DK $3,100) – The free square of the week. Bernard is the chalk running back this week assuming Mixon is out this week. He is near minimum price and was slashing through the Steelers defense on Monday night. There’s not much more to say here other than Bernard is near min salary and has 20+ touch upside against a Bears defense that is banged up on the defensive line. If Mixon is out, just lock Bernard in and eat the massive ownership.

Wide Receivers are where you will more than likely differentiate your lineup. There are good plays at the top and in the mid-range.

DeAndre Hopkins (DK $8,500) – Hopkins is a target monster and is going up against the 49ers who rank 16th in aFPA. Hopkins has received more than 10 targets in 7 of the last 8 games. He’s exceeded value in all but one game this season and should have a big game against the 49ers secondary. If you’re paying up for any wide receiver, don’t over think it.

Josh Gordon (DK $5,500) – Every real football fan was watching Gordon last week to see if he would show any signs of the superstar he was when he first came into the league. Well if you ask me, Gordon looked a bit rusty and had some issues catching some of the balls but saw a significant amount of targets. Last week Gordon went up against a tough Chargers secondary and still saw 11 targets. This week he has what comes across as a dream matchup against the Packers who rank 32nd in aFPA. Gordon will likely be heavily owned given his talent level and his good matchup, I’m just not sold on him yet. I also don’t see how Corey Coleman ($4,100) who led the team in receiving before Gordon was activated completely disappears with 0 catches. I understand why people are on Gordon, but I might be lower than the field on him.

Sterling Shepard (DK $5,300) – I think he’s my preferred pivot off Gordon. Before his injury that sidelined him for 3 weeks, he was averaging 12 targets in week 7 and 8. Last week he disappointed with only 3 catches, but that was with Geno Smith under center. Now he’s $1,700 cheaper, in a good matchup, and has Eli Manning back under center. He’s going up against the Cowboys who rank 25th in aFPA allowed to wide receivers. I like the Giants to keep this game close, so I expect Shepard to get the volume he saw before he got hurt.

Trent Taylor (DK $3,300) – My favorite punt play at wide receiver. With Jimmy Garoppolo he came up big in what Kyle Shanahan called his “Michael Jordan game given he was puking before the game last week. Sickness and all, the rookie came away with catching 6 of his 6 targets for 92 yards and looked like Julian Edelman for Garoppolo early last year.

A lot of value opens up at tight end this week. As always you can be contrarian by paying up for the studs like Kelce, but this week the way to go for cash games is down at the barrel.

Stephen Anderson (DK $3,200) – Anderson had a breakout game last week against the Titans filling in for Bruce Ellington and Cj Fiedorowicz. Anderson saw 12 targets and caught 5 of them for 79 yards and a touchdown. Anderson was a wide receiver in college and is a freak athlete and will figure to see work out of the slot this week. It’s worth monitoring if Will Fuller will play this week as that may eat into some of his targets. But Anderson should be a popular value play.

Trey Burton (DK $2,900) – Zach Ertz is in the concussion protocol. At this point there isn’t much being reported other than Ertz is with the team. IF Ertz is inactive, this opens up a ton of value at tight end, and Burton will almost be another lock and play. When Ertz missed week 9 against the Broncos, Burton filled in with 2 catches for 41 yards and a touchdown pass.
